Seeking Senior MPDE Automation Engineer with a strong Electrical and Electronics Engineering background to lead the development and implementation of advanced automation solutions for cable assembly manufacturing. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating automated manufacturing systems, while driving process innovation, quality improvement, and operational excellence; supporting new product development, Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives, tooling and process qualification, and supplier capability assessments. A strong understanding of industrial automation, controls engineering, electronics, sensors, machine vision, robotics, and manufacturing process development is essential.
This position requires close collaboration with Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to deliver robust, scalable, and cost-effective automation solutions that meet TE standards.
Job Requirements:
- Lead Automation Development for Cable Assembly Manufacturing - develop, implement, and validate cable assembly automation lines in accordance with LEANPD principles, driving productivity, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Drive Innovation in Automation Technologies - continuously improve existing automation methods and introduce new technologies, including robotics, machine vision, sensors, motion control, and advanced process controls to enhance capability and tolerance management.
- Support Product Development and DFM - partner with Product Development teams to optimize product designs for automated manufacturing, develop proof-of-concept tooling, prototypes, and ensure successful new product introduction (NPI).
- Design and Qualify Manufacturing Tooling & Processes - design, develop, and validate tooling, fixtures, and automated processes that meet quality, reliability, and production requirements while driving process capability improvements.
- Leverage Strong Electrical & Electronics Engineering Expertise - apply deep knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, automation controls, PLCs, sensors, machine vision, and robotics to solve manufacturing challenges, integrate automation solutions, and assess supplier technical capabilities and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong preference for candidates with Electrical & Electronics (E&E) engineering education and hands-on automation controls experience.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in automation engineering, manufacturing engineering, process development, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of Industrial automation systems; PLCs, motion control systems, and industrial networks; sensors, actuators, and electrical control systems; robotics and automated assembly equipment; servo systems and electrical drive technologies
- Proficiency in mandarin language will be added advantage
