As Sr R&D/PRODUCT DVL ENGINEER in TE Connectivity’s Digital Data & Networks (DDN) Business Unit, you will contribute to our innovative R&D Product Development team within Mechanical Engineering, taking ownership of production parts and products from conception to market delivery. Your work will directly influence product performance, manufacturability, and commercial success throughout the complete product lifecycle
Job Responsibilities:
- Design part and assemblies to meet mechanical and environmental requirements while embodying the most cost-effective solutions possible.
- Ensure designs implement proper technologies while meeting manufacturing, cost, and timing goals.
- Represent engineering in customer meetings, project meetings and site visits, providing technical support and insights as needed.
- Support the complete product life cycle (Design updates, Creation of product specifications, 3D/2D modeling, Prototyping, Product testing, Product qualification, Project Execution & Sustaining till product end of life)
- Work closely with PM (Product Manager) and other cross functions in getting the right and clear requirements to make engineering evaluation/proposal to update the design.
- Perform risk assessment tests and use results to improve design and reduce risks before reaching manufacturing.
- Technical support for customers, sales, PM and plant team. Define & coordinate with test lab for necessary qualification testing, engineering analysis, trouble shooting and verification.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, or a related Engineering discipline.
- At least 5+ years’ working experience in new product design and development related positions. Working experience on product development of Antenna, RF, COAX cable and connector is a plus.
- A solid understanding of mechanical designs including GD&T, structural mechanics and manufacturing process on sheet metal stamping, plastic injection molding, die casting, machining, printed circuit boards and product assembly.
- This position is highly technical and requires an individual who can work independently.
- Understanding product compliance certification and qualification testing.
- Proven experience in Design for Cost (DFC) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) methodologies, including cost optimization strategies, material selection, manufacturing process evaluation, and design simplification to enhance product affordability while maintaining quality and performance standards.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) and new product development (NPD) processes. PDM Windchill experience will be added advantage.
- Hands-on experience with Creo/ANSYS Simulation Tool is a plus.
- Basic understanding of quality tools and methodologies such as FMEA, Six Sigma, DOE, 8D, etc.

Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible professional level experience; Masters degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred at this level
