Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies to meet production and project requirements
  • Analyze and provide feedback to appropriate departments on part status or requirements for fulfilling customer demand.
  • Manage delivery of critical component parts and end product delivery with suppliers and contract manufacturing and  critical supply partners to meet customer requirements.
  • Escalation of any issues to relevant sourcing analyst.
  • Monitor & reporting KPI targets with actions delivery on time, confirmation of purchase orders.
  • Invoice processing, resolving blocked invoices and amendments of purchase orders

Requirements:

  • Capable of using Microsoft office tools, including relevant MRP experience, SAP or ERP is a required skill.
  • Good communication and engagement skills, both written and oral interpersonal.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail.

Education:

  • Minimum degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as buyer and related field, with an engineering background is an advantage.
