Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Environmental Health & Safety Teams ensure and monitor safety in the workplace. This includes the application and communication of health, safety and hazardous material standards, procedures and practices consistent with TE, environmental and government regulations

 

**THIS IS POSITION IS 100% ON-SITE  AT THE WILSONVILLE, OR FACILITY*

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure compliance with all Regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, and all other federal, state, and local regulations). 
  • Develop and deliver environmental, health and safety related training to all levels of management and employees including risk assessment, root cause analysis, behavior-based safety (BBS), ergonomics, and machine guarding. 
  • Work with management and employees to achieve high levels of employee engagement in EHS programs and processes. 
  • Ensure those involved in maintaining the organization’s EHS programs are aware of their responsibilities and how to execute them.  
  • Facilitate risk assessments, advising teams on the assessment process; quantification of risks; prioritizing risks for corrective action and effective risk control measures. 
  • Attend daily work area meetings to communicate safety concerns and priorities. 
  • Serve as a plant resource for EHS-related activities.  
  • Perform or coordinate department/plant-wide inspections of safety procedures, equipment, and programs to ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory requirements and risk reduction management.  
  • Participate in incident investigations and advise management on appropriate corrective actions. 
  • Report on findings and work with plant management to develop action plans to address deficiencies. Collaborate with other groups to complete the required activities.
  • Assist and/or conduct health and safety audits including pre-audit preparation, facility auditing, and preparation of clear and concise finding reports. 

 

What your background should look like

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field and minimum 1 year of related work experience 
  • Strong people skills and experience working in a team environment with the ability to work individually when required 
  • Strong communication skills including verbal and written (including the use of email and instant messaging 
  • Ability to assess and measure risk 
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to develop multiple solutions to an issue and make valid recommendations for resolution 
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) laws and regulations 
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Teams and SharePoint 
  • Strong analytical skills be able to interpret information so that proper decisions can be made and problems can be solved 
  • Must continually seek improvement and effect change in the operating systems 
  • Ability to conduct audits and inspections of all aspects of EHS 
  • Able to understand and execute processes including recognizing customer needs, communicating process changes, measuring and assessing success and identifying areas of improvement

 

Other job-related requirements:

 

  • Must be capable of standing, walking and sitting for extended periods of time 
  • Must be capable of lifting 35 pounds (including the ability to transport 55 gallon drums on a dolly) 
  • Must be onsite during normal working hours.  Some off-shift or weekend work may be required.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience:$66,300 ($31.88 an hr) – $99,400 ($47.79 an hr) (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
