Logistics and customs Bond Support

Job Overview

The Logistics and Customs Bond Support will be responsible for the support of all freight to and from Southern Africa as well as the customs bond compliance of all the transactions relating to these imports and exports. The direct reporting for this position will be reporting direct to the National Warehouse Manager in the Southern Africa (EMEA) region, with dotted line reporting to Logistics and Legal Entity Trade Compliance Manager.  

Primary Focus on:

  • Management on bonded warehouse entries for bonded warehouse.
  • Bond store and bond register manager
  • Working with Clearance Broker to ensure compliance

Logistics Support, assist with:

  • Manage all freight forwarders – Import (Air and Ocean)
  • Manage all freight forwarders – Import (Road)
  • Manage all freight forwarders – Export (Air and Ocean)
  • Manage all freight forwarders – Export (Road)








Long Description
  • Manage outsourced customs broker
  • Continuously working with freight forwarders to reduce freight cost
  • Working with planning team to ensure that product is sourced from cost effective shipping sites
  • Working with global logistics teams to ensure competitive bidding for freight
  • Daily issue of goods ready to be shipped lists with freight forwarders
  • Daily review of all goods in transit – escalation with freight forwarder
  • Communication in advance to Planning and customer service teams on shipments arriving late – so that proactive cost-effective actions can be taken.
  • Daily communication to back office team in India with planned ETA dates – so that LA confirmations can be updated. 
  • Daily issue of clearing instructions to broker
  • Review products sourced that attracts duty and review of alternative sources cannot be found that does not attract duty.
  • Warehouse operations:  picking, packing, shipping.
