Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.
Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Design and develop new products to meet Customer requirements.
• Involved in new product design within the full product development cycle:
   o From customer RFQ’s. (Request For Quotes) to SOP (Start of Production).
• Analyse voice of the customer (VOC) requirements and specifications.
• Wouk-out product design proposals using CAD tools, at different development stages:
   o Concept, Design, Development.
• Apply design verification tools such as worst case tolerance calculation, mechanical simulation,
• Work-out technical proposals to be submitted to customers while respecting quality, cost and project deadlines.
• Define DV (Design Validation) and PV (Product Validation) test plan.
• Carry out design of prototype parts, CAD models and drawings. Follow up of rapid prototyping and pilot manufacturing.
• Active participation in product FMEA and Product Design reviews.
• Technical interface for the internal and/or external production sites (suppliers).
• Technical interface with the customer.
• Execution of the product design technical documents (models, drawings, specifications, …) needed for mass production manufacturing tools launch.
• Follow up of the product Test & Validation / Qualification.
• Provide production release to manufacturing sites.
• Support PPAP submission process.
• Extensive use of collaboration to ensure project alignment with goals: interact with Sales & Marketing, Advanced Quality Engineering, Tooling, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Accounting, Test& Validation Lab, Model Shop, 3D Printing Shop, Advanced engineering, Platform Engineering, etc. as well as with Customers, Suppliers, outside Engineering service companies
• Account for bringing his/her projects to a successful completion.
• Working under defined and committed deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.


• Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a specialization in Product Design.
• In depth knowledge of plastics material, injection molding, tool design, part design.
• Proficient with CAD software: CREO is preferred.
• Knowledge of GD&T drafting standards, DFMEA, and DVP Test Plan Development.
• Technical background in automotive or related industry.
• Excellent French and English skills, written and verbal.
