Job Overview
The Digital Factory Lead will spearhead the deployment and implementation of Smart Factory solutions across the Medical Business Unit manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for driving MES modernization, enabling data-driven manufacturing, and aligning digital factory initiatives with business objectives for quality, cost, and delivery improvements. This role requires a blend of manufacturing expertise, IT knowledge, and strong leadership skills to manage change and foster a data-driven culture
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and optimization of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), including platforms like Hydra and SAP.
- Drive MES maturity across Medical BU.
- Champion digital factory capabilities such as machine connectivity, predictive maintenance, digital tiered accountability, and real-time data analytics.
- Lead the development and execution of the short and long-term digital manufacturing strategies and roadmap aligned with TEOA and COE playbooks and overall business objectives.
- Partner with TEOA and engineering teams to identify high-impact opportunities for digital enhancements, reduce waste, optimize material flow, and improve operational efficiencies.
- Establish and collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, engineering, and quality to ensure successful deployment and adoption of solutions.
- Oversee training programs for leadership, technical professionals, and hourly associates to support digital adoption.
- Integrate digital factory orientation into new employee onboarding and maintain training records.
Governance & Metrics
- Define KPIs for digital factory success including connectivity levels, process data maturity, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and maintain visibility through dashboards and reporting tools.
What your background should look like
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical), Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field.
- 13+ years of experience in manufacturing digitization, including MES deployment and Smart Factory initiatives.
- Proficiency in data management tools (SQL, databases), data visualization/BI tools (Power BI), programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python), and familiarity with industrial automation technologies (PLCs, IoT, SCADA).
- Proven leadership in cross-functional program management and digital transformation.
- Strong understanding of data analytics, predictive maintenance, and industrial IoT.
- Familiarity with ERP, MES and critical other manufacturing
- Knowledge of standard work/leans methodologies and digital factory maturity models.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and drive adoption across diverse teams.
- Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., medical device manufacturing) is preferred.
