Production Supervisor III

Job Overview

 

 

TE Connectivity's Operations Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations and short/long-term planning for the groups they manage. They manage manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, EH&S, shipping/receiving, etc. focusing on the development of technologies and continuous improvement and translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Model TE behavior-based safety practices to promote safe culture and compliance to worksite policies.
  • Lead capacity planning to appropriately staff, train, orientate direct staff to ensure alignment with production schedules and effective workforce utilization.
  • Leverage and apply knowledge of lean manufacturing and six-sigma tools to meet cost improvement initiatives.  
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and set expectations, goals, and objectives for employees, conduct annual goal setting and cultivate talent.
  • Lead daily tiered meetings to monitor KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) and adjust workforce as necessary
  • Direct and coordinate activities to drive employees engaged based on employee survey results
  • Lead cross-functional value stream team to ensure customer focus, monitor KPI’s and alignment to continuous improvement activities and solve day-to-day operational issues. 
  • This role requires regular presence on the floor, occasional weekend coverage and coordination with other shift leadership. 

What your background should look like:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 5 years’ experience as a production supervisor in a manufacturing environment
  • Medical device experience, SAP knowledge and lean six-sigma experience a plus

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds while moving files or small packages.
