Job Title: PBU Program Manager (Assemblies, Components)

 

Job Overview

 

The PBU Program Manager will report to the Global PMO leader and will be responsible for performance oversight and management of the PBU project portfolio.

 

The program manager will work with the regional PMO managers to oversee execution of the project portfolio. As General manager of the portfolio, the PBU program manager will track & drive project execution performance, resource planning, staffing, risk management, and communication for the PBU. The program manager will focus on achieving On-Time Delivery, scope, schedule, and budget attainment objectives across the portfolio.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Provide direction & oversight to regional PMO teams to drive efficient execution of the TE Medical Global portfolio.
  • Act as an interface between medical leadership, PMO and PBU cross functional teams.
  • Partner with product management & commercial to drive business growth via opportunity intake, prioritization and conversion management.
  • Oversight and direct PBU portfolio activity across the range of active project types including Advanced tech, NPD and sustaining projects.
  • Facilitate Project PACs reviews and monthly portfolio reviews.
  • Oversight, maintain and communicate portfolio KPIs providing insights & mitigations for variances and risks.
  • Act as the ‘general manager’ of the PBU portfolio, drive critical reasoning and decision making.
  • Summarize portfolio performance monthly and present to the TE Medical leadership team.
  • Partner with the PMO Admin team and finance team to coordinate financial reviews and budget/cost planning for the PBU portfolio.
  • Deliver the annual portfolio objectives in terms of target cost, performance and on-time delivery.

 

  • Partner with PMO regional leaders & project teams to
  • resolve project escalations to achieve on-time, on cost, on quality delivery.
  • Conduct project and portfolio risks assessment, develop & implement mitigation plans.
  • Provide direction and define priorities and required timelines with project managers.
  • Coordinate with Regional PMO leaders to maintain accurate project data & reporting.
  • Contribute to resource planning and staffing activities for the project portfolio.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Partner with PBU Program Managers to
  • Resolve cross PBU priorities, interdependencies & conflicts to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Plan and coordinate PMO priorities and resources across PBUs.
  • Streamline & Improve PMO processes across PBUs, identify process improvements, contribute to project standards, and implement best practices.
  • Implement / Improve PMO tools and systems that contribute to medical business growth and execution efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance to PMO frameworks, processes, procedures, and templates.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business.
  • 8+ years’ of demonstrated Project / Program Management experience in technology or Medical Device Manufacturing working with internal and external customers required. 
  • Formal Project management training required. PMP certification preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage via influence across different organizational levels within a globally distributed matrix organization.
  • Experience of working within a large scale PMO is required.
  • Experience in portfolio / program management with experience of directing multiple projects in parallel with multiple stakeholders across distributed geographies.
  • Experience in coaching and developing Project management professionals.
  • Results oriented with a strong ability to hold people accountable.
  • Frequently interact with multiple organizational levels and customers.
  • Candidates with a flexible, pragmatic approach and a bias for action are preferred.
  • Demonstrated business & financial acumen is a benefit for this role.
  • Ability to condense and summarize information prior to communicating to senior management and customers.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations preferred.
  • Flexibility to manage workload & hours to support PMO teams based in global geographies and varying time zones.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing systems, managing up, and managing peers.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and programs and meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Experience in Product/Project Lifecycle implementation and strong process and systems understanding preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and component or assembly design principles required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, problem-solving required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Project, on-line collaboration tools, and databases required.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10% annually.

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Program Management Teams are responsible for leading a cross functional team to deliver major customer programs within budget and time limitations in accordance with technical specifications and profit objectives. They manage customer programs (customized engineered solutions for particular end customer platforms) from bid preparation through production. Their duties include: developing budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirements; assembling cross-functional program teams with members from engineering, procurement, sales, production, materials management and quality; serving as the main point of contact for the customer for all negotiations, decision making, scheduling issues, and problem solving throughout the program; monitoring and reporting performance against plans to ensure that contractual, cost and schedule objectives are met; and arranging modifications as required.
