Job Overview

The Operations Quality Manager reports into the Senior Quality Manager within the Medical Device Business Unit at TE Connectivity. In this role, you will drive operational quality strategy and tactics at the TE Medical Trenton Lane facility.


  • Develops and manages a high-performance quality engineering team. Creates a strong collaborative team working environment with focus on customer needs, product quality and compliance
  • Able to manage quality resources available and directing the quality support activity of the team across multiple projects,
  • Demonstrates commitment to the Quality Policy (product safety and quality) through the daily execution of sound quality practices and the maintenance of an effective quality system.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the site quality system and product quality ensuring compliance to governing regulations and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Familiar with establishing inspection standards, plans, frequencies and test methods, and the practical application of quality engineering tools (Six Sigma); 
  • Leads and demonstrates expertise in the areas of QSR and ISO standards within one’s own group, constantly promoting awareness of best industry practices and making appropriate decisions on a daily basis.
  • Familiarity with Risk Management and making risk-based decisions throughout the product development life cycle.
  • Support audits from external regulatory agencies and customers and leads preparation activities in advance of such audits.
  • Ensures all customer queries and concerns are professionally addressed in a timely manner.
  • Participates in new product introduction to ensure quality is built into all products early in their life cycle.
  • Participates in Customer Complaint investigations for areas under their control and escalates critical issues as appropriate.
  • Manages and provides guidance and/or assists in defining, implementing and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions and supplier corrective action reports, ensure that adequate corrective action is put in place and monitor effectiveness of same.
  • Lead investigation of component/material quality issues as they arise - works with supply chain, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve issues and to disposition materials.
  • Promoting the Quality System within the Supply Base - working with Purchasing, Supplier Quality Engineering, Receiving Inspection and the business units to ensure that components meet our requirements


  • High School diploma
  • 5 years of quality assurance and inspection background.
  • Well-developed writing skills.
  • Proficient PC skills with word processing software.
  • Ability to effectively communicate. Must be proficient in English, verbal and written.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as job travelers, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and other procedural materials and documents.
  • Fundamental geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, statistics and measurements.
  • Ability to gather relevant data, establish facts and find resolution.
  • Effective organizational/time management skills applied in a fast-moving pressure filled environment.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision, as well as in “team” settings.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and adeptness in working with culturally diverse employee population.
  • Knowledge of measuring instruments, sampling plans.
