Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They assist Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, aide supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and follow all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements. 

 

This is an on-site position located at either our Plymouth, MN or Wilsonville, OR facility 
 
What your background should look like: 

 

Leads engineers with entry level to junior level experience in researching new ideas/technologies. Focuses on generating project plans and resolving technical issues. Leads process and equipment development activities such as verifying specifications, designing fixtures, and conducting controlled studies to ensure that the subassemblies and finished products meet their requirements. Works closely with R&D, Quality, and Regulatory in assisting  the development of new fixtures, equipment, products, and manufacturing processes to achieve a smooth, successful transfer to Manufacturing Engineering and Production for launch

 

  • Leads group of individuals of varying technical experience from entry level to junior level on projects of defined scope and diversity. 
  • Directs subordinates towards clear company objectives in an efficient and effective manner. 
  • Collaborates with all departments and other employees associated to Process Development Engineering to achieve company objectives and resolve project issues. 
  • Communicates project status and issues in a timely, clear, and appropriate manner to the organization. 
  • Manages process validations and tooling/fixture/equipment implementations across different manufacturing facilities and product lines 
  • Analyzes and/or directs the evaluation of test data to assure the development of robust/consistent fixtures, equipment, and new products. 
  • Confers with appropriate departments, resources, and/or outside services to prepare process modifications, clarify problems, and develop processes. 
  • Reviews and develops validation and/or manufacturing documentation (Technical Drawings, Specifications, Protocols, Reports, Software Validation, etc.) 
  • Reviews and develops mechanical design concepts for new equipment and fixturing to improve mfg. process capability, capacity, efficiency, cost, and quality 


 


 

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering 
  • 10+ years of medical device and mfg. process development experience (for Staff Engr and Manager level) 
  • 5+ years of managing a team of engineering professionals (for Manager level only) 
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent certification 
  • Experience  in Process Validations in medical device manufacturing environment 
  • Experience in statistical process analysis tools, including Design of Experiments (DOE) and reliability/capability for process development characterization and optimization 
  • Solid proficiency in technical documentation, including advanced CAD modeling and engineering drawings 
  • Knowledge of mechanical design with SolidWorks 
  • Working knowledge of conventional and CNC machining processes 
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills, be well-organized, ability to work in a fast-paced self­ directed environment

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $144,200 -$216,200 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
