Manufacturing Engineering Teams enable the TE business unit plants to reach TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, roll out Centers of Excellence (COE),
Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP’s) and advise plants on tool and machine duplications / corrections / improvements. They design and develop manufacturing
process and automation platforms and apply them for the realization of new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production.=The Teams also support Product Development in the selection and optimization of tools for piece part production and the selection of the most suitable
manufacturing concepts relative to planned manufacturing quantities, quality requirements and manufacturing location. They act as interface between engineering
and production to ensure manufacturability of new designs and smooth production ramp up as well as support the research & development teams to produce sample
manufacturing equipment, product samples and prototypes. Responsibilities:

• Provides direction and coaching to technicians and engineers.
• Builds strong relationships and collaborates with value stream, product design, process design, quality and maintenance teams.
• Ensures that inputs from all customers are understood, Manufacturing Engineering plans are appropriately developed, and drives accountability and execution to
• Strong communication skills are critical, demonstrating leadership communicating both up and down the organization as well as with suppliers and customers.
• Influences, guides, and manages internal/external resources to achieve business goals.
• Aligns resources and assures cross-functional support, as well as identifies opportunities for improvement within the existing processes and systems.
• Recruits, coaches, and develops organizational talent.
• Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
• Demonstrates effective change leadership.
• Monitors and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, EEO regulations, etc.).

What your background should look like:

  • Five or more years’ experience in engineering or related field.
  • Two or more years of experience managing a team of 5-10 people
  • BS Degree in Engineering required; Masters of Science/Engineering a plus.
  • In-Depth knowledge of advanced manufacturing methods and systems.
  • Strong leadership experience leading a technical team with challenging objectives and deliverables.
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas, share the business vision, and motivate a team.
  • Experience in the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and transformation – six sigma and lean background highly valued,
  • Proficient in advanced problem-solving skills and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically to deliver results.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills with all levels from shop flop to director level.
  • Experience in medical device industry a plus
  • Plastics manufacturing industry a plus
  • MS Office Suite proficiency: Word Powerpoint, Excel
  • SAP/ERP experience a plus
  • Six sigma/continuous improvement training/certification a plus
