Job Overview

What you’ll be doing…

Developing a comprehensive training program using the principles of Job Instruction Training (JIT) as outlined in the Training Within Industry system.


Reporting to the Operations Manager, the JIT Leader will be responsible for delivering the five day, two hour per day JIT class. You will develop future JIT leaders and establish a system of training that will be owned by Team Leads and Production Supervisors in their areas of responsibility. Your position will partner with all levels of the organization to embed JIT as the only way we train.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

A typical day may include:

  • Delivering the JIT training course.
  • Partnering with operations to write Job Breakdown Sheets (JBS.)
  • Reviewing and approving JBS’s that are submitted for finalization.
  • Auditing the effectiveness of JIT on specific jobs and partnering with employees to improve their JIT skills.
  • Auditing the training matrix in a production area and reviewing the training plan with operations to identify gaps and plans to improve those gaps.
  • Focusing on critical jobs that need support to address safety, quality or cost issues that can be addressed via training.

What your background should look like…

  • Experience delivering JIT five day program.
  • Experience with developing and delivering JBS’s.
  • Hands-on experience in challenging operations implementing change.
  • Essential skills:
    • Ability to lead and influence others.
    • Persistence and patience to ensure the effectiveness of how we train.
    • Planning and time management.
