Job Overview

 

TE Connectivity's Accounting Teams develop, implement and/or maintain one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, Cash Flows, etc. in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures. They also design operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency.
 
Creganna Medical, part of the Medical business unit of TE Connectivity has an opportunity for a Cost Accountant based out of Plymouth, MN to support the Plant Finance team.  This position will report to the Controller of the Minneapolis Medical Devices/Metals manufacturing facilities. This is a great opportunity to be part of not only a growing business but one of the most strategic sites in the BU. 
The Cost Accountant position will assist the Controller in providing Operations Finance support to the Medical BU and Plant Management team. The role will interact with all disciplines within the site, including Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Engineering and R&D.   The role acts as a support role within the Plant Finance team, ensuring cost accounting and reporting requirements are being met in a timely and accurate manner.

 

 

Long Description

 

Inventory and Production:

  • Support inventory reporting and analysis.  
  • Participate in annual physical inventory for Minneapolis Medical facilities.
  • Analysis of Production reporting including Labor and Materials KPI’s
  • Support inventory obsolescence analysis and calculation of monthly provision.

 

Month End Close and Reporting:

  • General Accounting including month end journal entries and reporting, corporate compliance,   auditing and monthly reconciliations.
  • Provide detailed Actual vs. Budget/Forecast analysis.
  • Detailed expense analysis of P&L accounts.
  • Metrics on productivity and scrap.


Analysis and Other:

  • Support standard costing analysis and reporting in SAP and other Legacy systems until all sites transitioned to SAP.
  • Analyze product profitability.
  • Support analysis of cost improvement initiatives.
  • Support Management team with Adhoc Analysis.
  • Responsible for providing analysis to support financial forecasting preparation.
  • Labor and Headcount Reporting and Analysis.

What your background should look like:

 

  • Bachelor's required in Finance or Accounting or similar field.
  • 2+ years experience - manufacturing preferred.  
  • Accounting acumen.  Strong PC and systems skills (Very strong Excel skills)
  • Experience - ERP system is preferred (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
