Customer Service Specialist- SAP LIT

Job Overview

This position sits on the SAP Local Implementation Team (LIT). As a team, the LIT is the change agent on the project and within the Business Unit. The LIT has a direct relationship and a key role in the meeting of project deadlines. The LIT visualizes the SAP configuration impact on the business areas, defines business scenarios, and simulates the transition of SAP into the business. The LIT tests the details of the SAP configuration and verifies that data is clean and output results are accurate. LIT responsibilities continue with training the business users on the use of SAP and being the primary source of local expertise after Go-Live. 

The position will represent the customer and the customer care team during the SAP implementation process.  Then move on to the Customer Care Team and be responsible for maintaining customer business relationships and providing total customer satisfaction.  Act in conjunction with Sales & Marketing teams to influence customer business decisions relating to TE Medical Products.

Essential Functions of SAP Implementation:
  • Learn and follow the SAP Project Methodology
  • Review the project scope, interfaces, and reports
  • Create, execute, validate and test business process scenarios and transaction functionality
  • Review & communicate business process issues with the SAP Core Team & stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with other LIT function members and site management
  • Create Business Requirements Documents as required
  • Understand DTO (data take-over) importance, assist in data clean-up, data mapping, data transformation and data loading from the Legacy system into SAP
  • Develop and complete the program documentation and associated test scripts
  • Track all Issues in own area and communicate these to Core/TEIS SAP Teams and Project Leader
  • Develop Business Documentation: training, standard operating procedures (SOP's), work instruction & related reference materials
Esstential Functions Cont:
  • Train Super Users and End Users on the functionality of SAP within the business environment and how this may change the roles and responsibilities compared to their legacy system
  • Cutover Activities - Support the Deployment Lead & the cutover plan, create and execute Go-Live tasks
  • Provide first level support for and after Go-Live Provide post-implementation training support within the Business Unit
  • Full time advocate for customer care on the Minnesota SAP implementation team.
  • Expected project duration 24 months +
  • Participates in process mapping, testing, procedure writing, and any other duties related to customer care in the SAP implementation.
Job Description and Duties:

•    Coordinates customer/TE Medical Products relationship.  

•    Supports the clear and effective communication of customer expectations to the organization and demands accountability for performance to agreed upon commitments.  
•    Ensures customer report cards and JIT/MLA/Kanban agreements are summarized and understood.  
•    Independently, or as a team member, investigates and resolves customer issues (delivery, price, quality, product and tooling information, etc.).  
•    Takes complete ownership of problem resolution. 
•    Utilizes business knowledge to recognize sales opportunities and prevent the loss of existing business.  
•    Provides timely, accurate, complete responses to customer or sales inquiries.   
•    Teams with Field Sales, Business Segment Managers, Operations and other TE functions to satisfy customer requirements.
•    Provides information and analysis on customer and market trends to Business Segment Manager.  
•    Develops and presents strategies for addressing strategic customer issues, competitive threats, or to gain additional business.
•    Coordinates meetings and general information exchange between customer and TE Medical Products.

Job Description and Duties Cont:
  • •    Is an active participant in customer visits to TE facilities and makes visits to customer locations when required. 
    •    Represents the customer’s point of view during internal decision-making process.
    •    Assists Business Segment Manager in development of quotation proposals.
    •    Creates and maintains customer orders in MRP system or provides direction for this activity to designated staff member.  
    •    Ensures accuracy of information in system, including requesting customer drawings and/or latest revision levels.  
    •    Ensures compliance to Quality System for order management.  
    •    Assists in streamlining order management systems.
    •    Works with customer and Sales to prepare and monitor monthly sales forecast by customer and product.  
    •    Solicits bookings to support committed bookings level.  
    •    Provides analysis on forecast and actual trends, and regularly communicates issues and implications to Operations and Business Segment Managers.
    •    Initiates formal NPI team activity and prepares initial information on new product order opportunities.  
    •    May lead NPI teams.
Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Education:
  • Previous SAP implementation experience desired
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • BA or BS preferred.
  • Organizational:  Strong organizational skills, ability to manage several tasks at once, ability to set priorities, time management, ability to lead meetings to drive action.  Ability to develop project plans and lead teams to improve business performance. 
  • Interpersonal: Customer focused, good oral and written communication, ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in sometimes emotional situations, team player, flexible and adaptable to changing conditions, positive and professional attitude, ability to develop strategies for handling moderately complex customer issues
