Job Overview

The Incoming Quality Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing supplier quality processes, monitoring supplier performance, and ensuring incoming materials meet quality requirements. This role works closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements, resolve material quality issues, and maintain compliance with company quality systems and regulatory requirementSs

Job Requirements

Supplier Quality Management

  • Evaluate and qualify new suppliers through audits and quality assessments.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implement supplier audit programs and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Maintain supplier quality agreements and ensure compliance with company quality requirements.

Incoming Quality & Supplier Engineering

  • Develop and maintain incoming inspection procedures, work instructions, and acceptance criteria.
  • Provide quality training and guidance to inspectors to ensure effective incoming inspections.
  • Review and approve First Article Approvals (FAA) to ensure material compliance with specifications.
  • Prepare and analyze quality performance reports for assigned suppliers and materials.
  • Support supplier-related approvals, engineering changes, and quality assessments. 

Non-Conformance Management

  • Investigate and manage incoming material non-conformance issues identified in IQC and production.
  • Coordinate material return and supplier corrective action activities.
  • Work with suppliers to drive root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support customer complaint investigations related to supplier quality concerns.

Regulatory & Compliance Support

  • Implement and maintain processes to ensure compliance with RoHS and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support customer surveys and documentation requests related to hazardous substance compliance.
  • Participate in material approval processes to ensure regulatory compliance.

What your background should look like

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of supplier quality, incoming quality, or supplier management experience within the electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of supplier auditing, quality systems, inspection methods, and corrective action processes.
  • Familiarity with First Article Approval (FAA), non-conformance management, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
