Job Overview

Supervises and manages all molding activities, team schedules and cycle times for full targeted output.

Responsibilities

    • Responsible for SAFE compliances and achieving the value stream/cell KPIs.
    • Lead value stream and ensure rated output, completion of daily and monthly production schedule.
    • Production tracking on daily basis and ensure all the internal external customers are served on time.
    • Responsible for process trouble shooting and standardization as per scientific molding process.
    • Responsible for molding and assembly capacity planning & load balancing to maximize production.
    • Responsible for SQCD (Safety, quality, cost & delivery), drive daily SQCD meeting along with CFT.
    • Preparation of production schedule along with SCM planner and ensure plan adherence by close coordination with all cross functional teams (ME, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, Tooling, etc.)
    • Drive and engage employees in generating improvement ideas/suggestions/Kaizens.
    • Identifies non-value add activities and waste, initiate and drive improvement activities
    • Closely monitoring the downtimes due to mold and machine breakdowns and quality rejections. Analyze and find root cause using problem solving techniques.
    • Timely reporting of scrap in SAP and production data in system.
    • Plan and execution of NPD projects along with project management team.
    • Responsible to closely monitoring of RM inventory at defined level & ensure efficient usage.
    • Maintain 5S in value stream, drive continuous improvement projects. Follow Pull, Kanban and other lean systems (As per TEOA).
    • Training and developing team on soft and technical skills.

Education and Knowledge

BE/ B.Tech (Mechanical)

Post-graduation (CIPET

Critical Experience

  • 8-10 years of experience in Automotive molding manufacturing industry.  Handling of molding and assembly Production, process trouble shooting, material planning, inventory management and team development.
  • Very good hands-on experience in the operation of All electric high-speed molding machines and SPMs, like

Arburg; Fanuc; Demag; Engel

High speed assembly machines, welding, soldering, potting, stitching.

  •  Integrated auxiliaries like
    • 4-6 axis Robot,
    • Cavity pressure system.
    • Mold temperature controller
    • Hot runner system
    • Mold vacuum
    • Centralized feeding system
    • Blending system for masterbatch and regrind.
  • Good knowledge of engineering materials and the quality defects can occur during process.
  • Able to find and drive COPQ reduction activities and propose solutions for the internal defects during production
  • Automotive connector manufacturing experience would be an advantage
  • High precision mold handling experience
  • Should know the SMED concept in molding to optimize the changeover.
  • Should have the basic understanding of the mold construction to minimize the trouble shooting time.
  • Inlay molding/ over molding work experience in different projects.
  • Should know the scientific molding process.
  • Should know the effective recycling of the runner in close loop system.
  • Hands on experience in the inventory management.
  • Able to understand the product drawings/ dimensions and the criticality.
  • Have handled TPM and lean practice implementation, Kaizen activity and improving asset utilization through proper planning and improvement actions.

  • Building people capability: Training and mentoring engineers with the necessary skill set, assuring succession & workforce planning & organizational capability
  • Quality controller:  Ability to assure quality for services, labels & labs
