Job Overview
Supports quality assurance activities within manufacturing, focusing on real-time defect prevention and problem resolution.
Responsibilities
- Measurement & Inspection Activities
- Perform dimensional inspection of components, assemblies, and prototypes using appropriate measuring equipment.
- Conduct layout inspections and product validation measurements as per customer requirements.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T requirements, and customer standards.
- Prepare dimensional reports and measurement analysis reports.
- Support product qualification and PPAP submissions.
- CMM & Advanced Measurement Systems
- Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
- Develop and optimize measurement programs.
- Validate CMM inspection methods.
- Utilize advanced measurement technologies such as:
- Vision Measurement Systems
- Optical Comparators
- Metrology Laboratory Management
- Ensure smooth operation of the Metrology Laboratory.
- Maintain environmental conditions required for accurate measurements.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of measuring instruments.
- Establish and maintain laboratory procedures and work instructions
Education and Knowledge
- BE/ B. Tech (Mechanical)
- Mechanical Diploma
Critical Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Production, Automobile.
- 3–4 years of experience in Metrology Laboratory, Quality Measurement, or Dimensional Inspection in the Automotive Industry.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T and tolerance analysis.
- Hands-on experience with CMM programming
- Knowledge of measurement equipment: CMM, VMM, etc.
- Experience in automotive/precision manufacturing is an advantage.
- Exposure to MSA, PPAP, APQP, and IATF 16949 requirements.
