Job Overview

Responsible for the entire HR operations at Pune. The scope of responsibility includes focus on recruitment, employee relations, training & development, talent management, succession planning, performance management, communications, implementing policies, programs and activities to support the business requirements, team development, internal and government compliance. The incumbent will report into and work closely with Head-HR, Transportation Solutions (India) and provide HR support as well as IR support for Shirwal plant operations.

What your background should look like:

HR - 

  • OLR - People / Org Review, Building Organization capability thru Strategic Work Force Planning
  • Partner with the Operations Functional Managers and ensure smooth progress
  • Strategically plan the resource pool to support the Business for timely supply of manpower
  • Regular review on On-boarding program and customization in line with the business need
  • Arrange a platform for effective performance management by preparing functional managers to guide and coach employees. Bring in a culture of continuous improvement in the business with effective participation and
  • Contribution in TEOA (Operations excellence) activities
  • Drive Employee Engagement initiatives to bring in change among employees for mutual benefits by leveraging each other strengths and capabilities
  • Focus on Employee Engagement by continuously harnessing and energizing various forums and committees
  • Work closely with C&B team to ensure that all C&B are extended to employees
  • Manage employee services smoothly & effectively to support business by leveraging the services of shared service resources.
  • Will be a strong link between the Recruiter and the BU for all hiring for band 5-3 & below positions,
  • Talent mapping as per SWFP for all pivotal roles.
  • Development Plans for the succession roles identified through SWFP and OLR.
  • Campus - Long Term Hiring Plan
  • Represent the HR function for all Quality Management System Audit ,Customer audit’s and other related requirements.

Industrial Relations -

  • Ensure harmonious and cordial industrial relations. Negotiate and Implement wage settlements & take proactive measures such as union meetings, counseling, mediation etc. Take appropriate disciplinary measures. Closely monitor union activities for smooth running of the organization
  • Leading negotiations with the union to win-win solutions & make proactive efforts to avoid business disruptions.
  • Handle employee queries and disciplinary cases.


  • Co-ordinate with Government Authorities, Advocates & Attend court cases. Advise and recommend Management in connection with litigations. Statutory Compliances :
  • Ensure statutory compliances under various applicable Labour Regulations for the entire company. Deal with various statutory bodies, with a particular reference to all relevant Labour Laws and with any other statutory bodies.
  • Ensure QMS and EHS compliance as applicable.


  • Contract Labour Management, Facilities Management and Event management CSR
  • Execution of CSR activities as per the Plan and establishing required relation with external parties.


  • MSW/ MBA
  • IR experience is a must
  • 10+ years of relevant experience which should be a mix a of IR and HR
