Job Overview
We are looking for a highly organized Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of development projects. The Project Manager to drive development projects in a timely, efficient and effective way to ensure short time to market, high rate of success, low development cost, high transparency and visibility to the organization.
In this position, you must closely collaborate with cross-functional teams including colleagues from Product Management, Sales, Manufacturing, Development, Operations, and other functions to achieve the common objectives. With full ownership of the project schedule, you will ensure execution and identify potential risk factors and drive mitigation actions
Job Requirements
Responsibilities:
Complete end-to-end planning, direction and co-ordination of all the project activities
Overall responsibility for the successful implementation of projects in accordance with the respective project specifications
Process management: Compliance with the Planisware (PLW) Project framework (LEANPD process) and review of the documentation including planning, project risk management and development progress
Communication: Development of a project-specific communication plan, implementation of weekly project meetings with customers, organization of regular internal project evaluations as required, creation of project progress reports as well as controlling and influencing the expectations of the individual stakeholders
Setting up, plan and execution of the new product development projects.
Setup project plans and schedules incl. Comprehensive Project Plan (CPP) for development projects by close cooperation with all involved departments and team members. Define milestones and critical paths and evaluate the risk of delays to minimize their impact on the schedule. Analyze the status of development projects and ensure proper project execution. Record deviations from the target schedules and adjust schedules accordingly.
Project budget and product cost plan and control, to simulate product cost include parts and tooling in system way in project early phase, to plan and control the P&L.
Project Status Reporting
Report adjustments in the schedules in a timely manner and communicate changes with the team members frequently. Provide detailed updates including statistical evaluations and recommendations to Project Approval Committee (PAC) according to the project gate plan. Highlight issues which may require members of the management to be involved. Provide ad-hoc updates if requested and maintain a project info board for team members and management regularly.
Requirements Management
Organizing customer needs: evaluate collected marketing information (discreet discussions and in-depth interviews with customers, surveys, customer specifications, field reports, customer complaints) and compile the Project Requirements Document (PRD) and verify it against the Design Objectives with team members.
Leadership management: role model function for regional PLW project members (if applicable), appearance towards external customers characterized by highest integrity, positive attitude, technical competence, pronounced work ethic and expert knowledge in project management
What your background should look like
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent
- At least >7 years working experience in mechanical/electrical design and/or manufacturer as project manager role. Multi-national company is preferred.
- General knowledge of Operations/Manufacturing processes
- Experience with LEAN development processes and gate milestone development
- PMI Certification would be desirable
- Industry experience of the connector market would be desirable
- Travel domestic and internationally possible up to 25%
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent skills in planning and organizing, prioritizing; task management, risk management; change management tracking; scope control; coordinate/facilitate projects and meeting objectively, delegates tasks.
- Drive for results.
- Hands on experience in applying project management methodology and principles, PMP certification is a must.
- Solid knowledge in product cost stimulation and elements of the P&L statement for the project.
- Proven skills in managing multiple projects.
- Proven ability in risk management and mitigation planning.
- Knowledge of interconnectivity products is an added advantage.
- Able to work in a culturally diverse environment and seamlessly collaborate across boundaries.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and social ability.
- Acting with caution and in a well-structured manner.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Skillful of MS-Project.
- Good negotiating skills and influence skills, good time management.
- Good knowledge in materials and supply chain process.
