PROJECT MANAGER
Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Engineering Project Management Teams manage cross functional engineering projects. They work with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to assure projects meet financial, schedule and customer expectations. They are responsible for defining and creating project schedules, portfolio management, communication and execution of programs, identifying resource constraints and working with management for resolution, while adhering to Lean PD processes.
As Senior Project Manager you are responsible for the planning, execution and control of the development of new strategic products and processes within the Global ICT (Industrial & Commercial Transportation) corporate structure. The position requires an exchange with all stakeholders on a global level.
Interested applicants must be able to communicate very effectively, to motivate local and global teams, to successfully influence stakeholders (TE internal as well as external customers) on a global level and to ensure the profit-oriented development and successful implementation of complex large-scale projects.
Main tasks
- Overall responsibility for the successful implementation of projects, in accordance with the respective project specifications
- Process management: Compliance with the LEANPD process and review of documentation including planning and development progress
- Leadership Management: A role model for regional TE project members (where applicable), demeanor to external clients characterized by high integrity, positive attitude, technical proficiency, strong work ethic, and project management expertise
- Cost Monitoring: Manage project expenses within budget and ensure cost-performance ratios in the areas of net throughput, material consumption and labor are met
- Communication: Developing a project-specific communication plan, conducting weekly project meetings with customers, organizing regular internal project evaluations as required, preparing project progress reports, and controlling and influencing the expectations of the independent stakeholders
- Planning: Guidance and development of effective project plans, incorporating key elements of project integration scheduling, cost, risk management, communication, project quality, human resource planning, procurement management and task delineation
- Risk Management: Efficient creation, monitoring and review of risk management plans
- Customer Management: Execution of an integrated monitoring of change management processes
- Capacity planning: Development and maintenance of capacity plans from project level to component level
- Economic analysis: needs-oriented implementation of analyzes as a basis for governing in the areas of project management, alternative evaluation, variance review, cost calculations, and resource management effective guidance of project teams and needs-based allocation of resources
What your background should look like:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar technical discipline or comparable professional experience and communication skills
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in the management of complex projects
- Experience in electronics, power distribution units or the automotive industry
- Project management certification is desirable
- Knowledge of handling MS Project
- Intercultural skill, strong problem-solving skills
- Very good knowledge of English and willingness to travel occasionally
