Job Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Aerospace and Defense Project Management Office.

Reporting to a Portfolio Manager/PMO Leader, the position holder will have primary responsibility for the delivery of strategic New Product Development Programs comprised of multiple projects that, together, deliver system-level solutions within the ADM Business Unit. This is a customer-facing role with program ownership and accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives.

The Program Manager is a prominent role within TE and the position holder will drive the successful performance of multiple high-profile/value programs following defined methods and processes to achieve commercial and efficiency targets set by the business.

Developing relationships and maintaining a high level of communication with cross-functional global teams will be critical to the role. You will be required to act as the primary owner of each program and to report progress to a senior leadership team on a regular cadence and at specific key milestones during each Project/Program lifecycle.

The role is open to remote working, but proximity to a TE site for onboarding and, when required, in-person work is preferred. There is also the option of full-time on-site or hybrid remote and on-site working.

Travel domestic and international possible up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop program strategy for assigned product lines/platforms, aligned with industry trends and business goals.
  • Manage cross-program communication to ensure clear requirements, resourcing, budgets, and timelines.
  • Act as primary liaison with customers at a program level, working with business counterparts.
  • Oversee multiple projects, managing dependencies and adjusting sub-project activities to meet program objectives.
  • Manage program budget and supervise budget activities within sub-projects.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project managers for cohesive program delivery and achieving business benefits.
  • Resolve complex program-level issues by escalating and coordinating across functional areas.
  • Develop and manage program-level risk strategy to ensure program aligns with business case.
  • Oversee changes in sub-project scope, considering program-wide impact.
  • Establish and lead program planning, reporting, and performance tracking with clear benchmarks.
  • Report program status to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with strategic plans.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage program-level plans for on-time, on-budget, and on-scope delivery of all sub-projects.
  • Work with project managers to develop and monitor consolidated program-level resource plans.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic process improvement across programs.

What your background should look like:

  • Typically, a university degree with a minimum of 7 years prior relevant experience in managing projects/programs with new product development objectives using the agile and waterfall stage-gate process
  • Program management experience leading cross functional teams.
  • Previous experience working with engineering, manufacturing, operations and product management
  • Demonstrates a big-picture understanding of the business, its interrelationships, and priorities.
  • Problem-solving - knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem-solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiating, and influencing skills and the ability to build strong, credible relationships with multiple organization functions (internal and external)
  • Project Management Professional (e.g. PMI-ACP, PMP, PgMP, Prince 2)
  • Experience with MS Office Suite and using integrated project scheduling/management software

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $150,000 -180,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
