Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Project Management Teams are responsible for managing the operational aspects of projects from inception through implementation. They coordinate cross-functional teams and serve as liaison between project management and planning, project teams and line management. Our Teams review status of projects and budgets, manage schedules and prepare status reports. They assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. They also develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

What your background should look like:


The Project Manager  will be responsible for overseeing multiple New Product Development (NPD) projects. This role is key in driving projects to successful completion, ensuring they meet the established goals in terms of design requirements, operational expenses (Opex), capital expenditures (Capex), and timelines. The PjM will primarily focus on TE’s products for OEMs and CAMs in the automotive market, including terminals, connectors, headers, charger inlets, and HEMs products.
Projects typically last around 18 months with a budget of approximately €1 million. Depending on the complexity of the projects, the PjM will manage up to six projects simultaneously.
He/She  will report to the Manager of Project Management and will work within a team of two PjMs based in France and one PjM based in India. The role requires strong leadership across cross-functional teams and full accountability to the Project Approval Committee (PAC) for all projects under their responsibility.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the "General Manager" for each project, ensuring all design requirements and contractual obligations for TE are met.
  • Lead the creation and accuracy of the Project Charter and P&L through all phases of the project.
  • Provide leadership and oversight in accordance with TE's project management policies.
  • Develop detailed project plans to meet objectives, collaborating with functional managers to ensure resources are available.
  • Form and lead the project team, preparing them for Gate/Interim Gate Reviews.
  • Execute the project plan to achieve milestones, timelines, KPIs, and Project Charter goals, proactively addressing and overcoming any barriers or roadblocks.
  • Monitor and control the progress and performance of the project, ensuring no delays or budget overruns.
  • Manage the completion phase, ensuring the finalization of all activities and formal closure of the project or phase.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, ensuring alignment of stakeholders with the Project Charter.
  • Communicate regularly with project teams and stakeholders, providing updates on project progress.
  • Report key project metrics to European senior management regularly.
  • Mentor existing Project Managers and support the development of experienced PjMs with PMI certifications.
  • Lead complex projects with multicultural teams, ensuring successful collaboration across multiple regions and disciplines.

 

What Your Background Should Look Like:

  • University Degree: Engineering preferred, with a minimum of three years of professional experience in Project Management.
  • PMI Certification (CAPM, PMP, or PgMP) is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of agile development methodologies and the ability to apply them to NPD projects.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, particularly MS Project, and knowledge of molding, stamping, and assembly technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to set goals and motivate team members.
  • Experience working within cross-functional teams to maintain schedules and financial goals throughout the project.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The ideal candidate will be proactive, resilient, and self-confident.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Automotive APQP process and IATF 16949 procedures; knowledge of VDA6.3 is a plus.
  • Customer-oriented approach with a focus on meeting client needs and expectations.

Timeline
TE Connectivity recruits on campus between September and March for New Grad (FT), Rotational, Internship and Co-op positions beginning in May.
