Job Overview

The New Product Introduction (NPI) Buyer plays a key role in bringing new products to market by managing procurement activities throughout the product development lifecycle. Working closely with engineering, quality, supply chain, and suppliers, the NPI Buyer supports sourcing decisions, cost optimization, supplier selection, risk management, and project execution to ensure successful product launches on time, within budget, and at the required quality standards.

What You'll Do

  • Manage procurement activities for new product development and industrialization projects.
  • Support supplier sourcing, quotation processes (RFQs), and commercial negotiations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing teams throughout project execution.
  • Drive supplier selection and evaluate sourcing options based on cost, quality, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate tooling, equipment, and component procurement activities.
  • Monitor project timing, costs, risks, and supplier performance to support successful product launches.
  • Conduct market research and identify opportunities for cost improvement and supply optimization.
  • Lead supplier reviews and risk assessments to ensure project readiness.
  • Support value engineering and cost reduction initiatives during product development.
  • Facilitate effective communication between internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Contribute to process improvements and share best practices across the team.
  • Ensure smooth handover of projects into serial production and ongoing commodity management

What Your Background Should Look Like

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Procurement, Operations, or a related field.
  • Experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, or project management environments.
  • Experience within an automotive or industrial manufacturing environment is preferred.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional and international teams.
  • Negotiation and supplier management experience.
  • Technical understanding of manufacturing and production processes is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP is preferred.
  • Fluent English communication skills; additional European languages are an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as business needs require
