Analyste Trade Compliance France F/H

Job Overview

Reporting to the Global Trade Compliance Manager France & India you will integrate our team in France.
This role opens the possibility to work remotely but will require regular on-site presence on our site in Evreux (27).


Position Summary: 

  • Assist in the implementation of company or corporate policies and procedures that ensure effective compliance to all applicable global trade regulatory requirements (French, EU and US). 
  • Areas of knowledge include but are not limited to jurisdiction & classification determination, export licensing management, technology transfer management, third party / prohibited and restricted party screening, compliance with technology control plans, export documentation management, customs compliance administration both for import and export activities, customs origin and valuation determination, and export controls & customs regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate directly with the business unit departments 

Major Job Functions

Product Jurisdiction and Classification Determination

  • Participate to the jurisdiction and classification determination, both export control and customs related, relative to the classification of products, technologies and services, together with the Engineers and Product Managers, Customer Service and Procurement.
  • Ensure that classification changes are reflected in Trade Automation (Global Product Master) whenever there is a change in the Lists of controlled items or in the Customs Tariff schedule.
  • Participate to the weekly meeting with Engineering and challenge/verify the classifications if need be.
  • Load the classifications into Trade Automation (Global Product Master).


License and Agreement Management

  • Prepare the license applications as per AD&M policy (Basic Information Form collection – Trade Lane details & technical documentation to French authorities, etc….)
  • Coordinate the export license submissions
  • Ensure a close follow-up up to the export license notifications by governmental authorities
  • Ensure smooth and effective communication to internal customers


Customs Brokers Management

  • Manage the administration of the required KPIs and follow-up customs brokers’ performances
  • Ensure the transit times comply with the required KPIs
  • Verify and approve on a regular basis Customs Brokers’ invoice
  • Verify on a regular basis the accuracy of the customs clearances
  • Resolve discrepancies in documentation with suppliers



  • Proceed to monthly and bi-annual reporting to SBDU and DGA
  • In that regard, maintain a detailed follow-up of the export licenses life cycle
  • Keep every report recorded under Trade Compliance server “G”
  • Follow-up “Blocked Orders” report twice a week and proceed to the release whenever possible
  • Proceed to any additional report that would be required as per business needs
  • Issue reports from SAP, Trade Automation and TED 


Third party / Prohibited Party Screening

  • Actively support the order/quotation screening process by assisting customers, sales force, proposals and customer service personnel.


Recordkeeping and Audit

  • Responsible for ensuring that all regulatory and TE requirements are met
  • Ensure that transactions files are properly recorded and easily accessible by authorities 
  • Assist in preparation and coordination of periodic audits (DGA, SBDU, Customs authorities)
  • Participate in development of solutions and implementation, including reporting of any corrective actions identified (Corrective Action Plans)

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor's degree in international business or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of International Trade Regulations, both Customs and Export Controls related
  • Ability to develop a working relationship with relevant Government and regulatory agencies
  • Incoterms knowledge is required
  • Jurisdiction & classification basic knowledge
  • Position requires strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, written and oral
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in French and very good English language skills
