Analyste Trade Compliance F/H

Job Overview

The trade compliance officer supports the implementation and application of the trade compliance program, with the supervision of the trade compliance manager, to secure trade compliance activities and prevent TE from risks and high penalties. 

The internal trade compliance program must include (but is not limited):
1.    Transport & Customs Broker Management: 

  • provide clearance instructions to all customs brokers,
  • powers of attorney follow up,
  • manage post entry checks of import and export customs declarations according to customs regulation,
  • recordkeeping: set up a routine on site to collect copies of all export and import declarations.
  • invoices check and validation (transportation, customs & duties)
  • RfQ and transport organization (importation & exportation)
  • Regular meetings with carriers & brokers
  • maintain KPIs.

2.    Free trade agreements: collect long term suppliers declarations, calculate preferential origin of TE eligible products, provide preferential origin declarations …
3.    Classification of products in FTC, with the cooperation of engineers on sites: 

  • ECCN classification according to EU rule,
  • HTS classification, 
  • Updates,
  • BTI applications
  • Remove HTS & ECCN blocks.

4.    Contact with local authorities during audits and inspections,
5.    Customers denied party screening:

  • Check and release blocked orders,
  • File end user certificates.
  • Escalate potential risks.

6.    Act as local contact on behalf of TE Connectivity Solutions GmbH (TESOG) & TEF, 
7.    Set up and maintain efficient trade compliance processes and routines,
8.    Regulatory watch of national customs and export control laws and international rules.

What your background should look like:

  • Fluent in English,
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in trade compliance/ international trade,
  • Able to proactively manage trade compliance risks, preventing future issues from forming,
  • Able to transform trade compliance rules into practical operations processes and solutions,
  • Ability to engage different departments involved in trade compliance activities (purchasing, finance, sales, R&D, logistics …),
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure good relationship with governmental agencies and other stakeholders, 
  • Knowledge of EU customs & export control regulations,
  • Structured and analytical person, 
  • Oriented on problem solving and result,
  • Strong integrity and cooperative spirit.
  • SAP & Microsoft Office
