TE has invested in strategic manufacturing capabilities to enable product quality improvements and cost savings. As a member of the manufacturing engineering team, the engineer filling this role will have site level and global responsibilities to drive insourcing of components for use in the manufacture of medical device products.  The engineer will be responsible for technical direction and project execution at the site in Plymouth, MN and will be a resource globally to support insourcing into other sites in Ireland, Costa Rica, Singapore, China and California. Responsibilities include:


  • Establishing technical development and qualification requirements for key insourcing projects which will be leveraged locally and globally.
  • Driving successful execution of individual insourcing projects to meet quality, cost and schedule objectives.
  • Managing cross-functional activities with manufacturing engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations teams. 
  • Coordinating development and qualification of components with internal suppliers located in Texas, Oregon, Mexico and Plymouth. 
  • Adhering to quality and compliance standards to ensure safe and effective use of the devices TE manufactures.  
  • Lead teams and mentor others in best practices.


What your background should look like:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of industry experience 
  • BS degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial or related engineering degree
  • Medical Device engineering experience preferrred; interested in medical device and manufacturing technologies 
  • Six Sigma, lean certification a plus
  • SAP experience a plus 
  • PMP certification and experience with PM software a plus 
  • Innovative idea-generator who enjoys leading teams and mentoring others
  • Problem-solving mindset backed up by solid statistical analysis skills
