Senior Manager Continuous Improvement

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Continuous Improvement Teams design and implement programs and projects to improve products, services, or processes aligned with business strategies. They coach teams; establish program performance metrics; and establish process excellence supports.

What your background should look like:

Job Overview
Report to the VP of Operations Medical, draw together the existing site structures and resources to develop and lead a multi year strategic roadmap delivering on business objectives associated with Continuous Improvement, Net Productivity improvement and TEOA (Lean transformation program).

 

Job Responsibilities
•    In association with each site develop a multiyear roadmap that identifies key programs that will enable delivery of overall Medical and site specific net productivity and TEOA business objectives
•    Ensure a process is in place that regularly updates and refreshes the overall roadmap which can be utilised in quarterly forecasting, annual planning and multi-year strategic planning processes.
•    Engage plant leadership on the overall business and site journey and utilise change management to gain acceptance of overall strategy
•    Engage leaders of key levers and focus areas such as Digital Factory, Automation,  COPQ improvement, etc. to support strategy development and execution.  
•    Engage with the TE TEOA Network, sharing best practices and driving Medical to achieve TEBest through benchmarking across the network
•    Enable and lead cross functional kaizen/improvement events as required by the business.
•    Implement standard structures for execution and reporting that drives continuous cost reductions.
•    Work closely with all functions to ensure robust problem solving and continuous improvement techniques are in use.
•    Develop a strong, results-driven team that executes on key improvement programs with a culture of accountability that becomes embedded in the organization
•    Actively contribute to the professional growth of employees, identifying key players, proposing actions aimed at motivating key employees. Develop talents and future leaders.
•    Support organisation development through coaching our cross functional leaders and enabling locations leverage the training programs available through TE
•    Drive a culture of creativity, speed, efficiency, innovation and continuous learning in the organization
•    Engage with the regional operations leader to ensure standardisation of process and approach across the Medical network
•    Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as all TE policies and procedures

Qualifications

Primary degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience

Minimum 10 years’ leadership experience in an advanced manufacturing company, with progressive levels of responsibility.
•    Previous experience leading large scale continuous improvement programs
•    Experience of site performance transformation an advantage
•    Strong background in Lean practices, experience in using value stream mapping and implementing lean tools, such as:  5S+1, Visual Factory, Standard Work, Quick Changeover, Material Replenishment & Flow, and TPM essential.
•    Strong team leader and talent developer
•    Ability to think strategically and execute tactically to deliver results
•    Analytically minded and data-driven to have a holistic overview of complex situations.
