Senior Quality & Reliability Engineer

Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.

Job Overview
The SR QLTY & RELIABILITY ENGINEER  will focus on outlining the validation strategy for TE Medical's value streams, specifically on processing equipment, materials, and inspection instruments and methods. working with manufacturing to sustain and improve manufacturing quality on Class II and III medical devices, using statistical strengths for increased efficiencies.  

Responsibilities

•    Develops and implements validation strategies for monitoring and testing equipment
•    Analyzes and documents test results
•    Prepares compliance reports
•    Directs validation activities
•    Resolves testing problems
•    Making recommendations for adjustments or improvements to equipment and processes
•    Creates and maintains databases to track validation activities
•    Interprets customer requirements
•    Develops validation schedules
•    Conducts training and oversees the work of individuals assigned to validation execution
•    Maintains instrumentation and equipment associated with validations
•    Keeps up to date on industry standards and regulations
•    Participates as a key member of new product development core teams, to help ensure that new product plans have had proper consideration of validation strategies. 
•    Reports verbally and in writing to the Quality Manager regarding the progress and results of projects.
•    Participates with the QA Director / Manager in the preparation of divisional, departmental, and project goals.
•    Assists the Quality Director / Manager in presentations of technical nature when requested.
•    Other projects and assignments as assigned

What your background should look like:

•    BS/BA degree with a scientific emphasis required
•    Min. 5 years' experience as quality engineer
•    Good working knowledge of ISO/FDA/MDD and other Product Development related regulatory requirements.
•    ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred
•    Six Sigma Green/Black belt preferred
•    Quality experience in component and device manufacturing preferred.
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills essential.
