Quality Assurance Specialist II

Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.


As a quality technician you will work with technicians, engineers, supervisors, coordinators, and assembler by providing day-to-day floor support to ensure product and process compliance in addition to supporting continuous improvement activities, and quality initiatives.
•    Assists engineering in providing manufacturing support by training operators on processes and engineering changes, and performing operator certification on-the-job training and testing.
•    Develops knowledge of manufacturing practices and procedures.
•    Learns process improvement techniques by assisting Engineering in researching and validating changes in processes/equipment and test methods to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time per established procedures.
•    Learns traceability and inspection requirements, learns statistical process control criteria, learns how to develop manufacturing instructions, and create training sheets and certifications. May also train operators on basic processes and engineering changes, and perform operator certification on-the-job training and testing.
•    Assists Engineers in collecting, compiling, measuring, organizing and recording data, and by writing procedures.
•    Provides Change Notice (CN) support and ownership
•    Responsible for the final Process Monitor Release for products prior to distribution.
•    Perform MRB activities including quality and compliance assessment, investigation, disposition, and releasing product using MES, IQS and eCAPA systems


What your background should look like:

•    Technical degree or 2+ years equivalent experience
•    Background in Automated Vision System Programming, Micro-Vu Systems a plus
•    GD&T certification preferred
•    Six Sigma or ASQ certifications preferred
•    Skills
