Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Commercial Law Teams provide a variety of general corporate and commercial legal services including contracts, legal rights, obligations, and privileges. They also review legal data and advise organization on appropriate legal action.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Main Duties:

  • Drafting and review of, proposal of changes to commercial agreements in an international/cross-border environment in the field of energy, e.g., tenders and supply agreements, project agreements, logistics agreements, development agreements, procurement agreements, etc.
  • Coordination, monitoring, consulting and support of ad-hoc projects, e.g. in the field of tenders; legal support of Marketing
  • Ensure that contractual risks of TE are appropriately balanced
  • Collaboration with other members of the global Industrial Solutions Law Department in connection with commercial agreements and projects requiring team work.
  • Policies and Guidelines:
    • Research for and setting up of policies and guidelines to implement efficient legal advice for the Energy business unit. Support the preparation and implementation of compliance trainings for employees.
  • Disputes:
    • Support the settlement of disputes; law suits and litigation; management and coordination of the same with external legal advisors where necessary.
    • Gathering and reviewing of facts and information, provide initial risk assessment; recommendation of settlement options and monitoring of necessary action items to ensure disputes are resolved in TE’s best interests.
  • Compliance/Trainings:
    • Carry out trainings for various functional groups withing the Energy business unit
    • Support the Compliance department, particularly in the field of third-party audits/third-party due diligence


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Law degree (master or country-specific equivalent)
  • Bar admission (or country-specific equivalent), preferably in an EU member state
  • A minimum of 2 – 4 years of post-qualification experience, ideally 1-2 years in a commercial law firm and/or in an international company
  • Outstanding communication skills, in particular the ability to provide clear and concise legal advice
  • Fluency in English and German (oral and written). Knowledge of French or another main European language is a strong advantage.
  • MS Windows, MS Word and basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • High interest in legal issues in a commercial environment, proactive and detailed approach
