Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.

This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Make level 1 – 4 PPAP’s and AS9102 FAI’s for recently migrated products, new and existing products.
  • Generate QIP’s on new and existing product lines.
  • Assist and/or Lead Cross Functional Teams in Process FMEA’s
  • Prepare / update of FMEA’s and preparation of CP and QIP’s 
  • Support Quality function and deliverables across multiple project teams located in multiple regions.
  • Interface with customers, internal manufacturing sites and suppliers as required to address and resolve issues as they arise. Occasional travel may be required to TE sites, suppliers and customers.
  • Assist Product and Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians in the resolution of issues
  • Apply workmanship standards in the inspection of components and assemblies to assess acceptability
  • Read engineering drawings interpreting Geometric Tolerancing and develop the corresponding quality inspection plans (QIP) for components and assemblies
  • Read and interpret quality specifications and requirements
  • Collect statistical data, as applicable
  • Lead and participate in MRB activities and corporate objectives relating to Block Stock.
  • Prepare reports and present to engineering team
  • Be a resource for design of experiments (DOE) and capability studies
  • Execution of failure analysis (Ishikawa, 5 Why, 8D)
  • Analysis of quality and process data (ppm, scrap, Pareto, CPK, COPQ etc.)

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one-year experience in a quality role either analyst or engineer required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in manufacturing in quality department.
  • High School Degree Required
  • BS degree in science, engineering, or manufacturing or industry related certification preferred.
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Statistical required
  • SAP preferred
  • US Citizen or US National Required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quality concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and 5S principles
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
