TE Connectivity's Machinist Team's responsibilities include, assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. They work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, communicating directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Machine Maintenance team installs, repairs, and maintains wiring, electric fixtures and control equipment for production and support machinery. They complete work orders and record material utilized on jobs. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

Responsibilities & Qualifications


The ELECTRICIAN is: Responsible for performing maintenance assignments, both preventative and repairs, on production machinery and mechanical controls throughout all departments in the facility. Analyzes electrical, mechanical, and operational problems on assigned equipment and takes corrective action. Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum safety, production, and quality. When required, provides assistance to maintenance personnel completing repairs and other job duties.

This position will report to the Production Manager/Maintenance Supervisor.

1. Performs scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment. Performs inspections, diagnosis and repair as needed to ensure equipment is functioning safely and at maximum efficiency.

2. Lubricates equipment and monitors correct oil levels and conditions on a daily basis. Provides appropriate documentation of results.

3. Completes required paperwork and data entry utilizing maintenance computer software associated with repairs to document corrective actions, parts usage, and accounting for repair time.

4. Inspects electrical parts such as cables, transformers, PLCs, motors, pumps, and other components for wear or damage and repairs or replaces as necessary.  Provides insight for modifications, and can work from blueprints, operation manuals, manufacturer’s specifications or other troubleshooting steps as available.

5. Assists with the installation of new machinery and equipment and relocates existing machinery insuring proper placement; leveling and alignment.
6. May analyze breakdown problems and diagnose causes of malfunction. Provides input to revise and update maintenance procedures and documents.

7. May assist with maintenance on building electrical work, especially those which affect machinery.

8. Maintains a clean, safe work area and performs all work in accordance with established safety and corporate procedures.

9. Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks and work both independently and with others in a professional, objective manner to achieve team goals and directives. 

10.  Train with and learn from other members of the maintenance team, and coordinate with supervision to source outside assistance when needed.

11.  Other maintenance duties as assigned per department management


  • High School diploma required
  • AA Degree in related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Electrical or Electronic Repair 
  • US citizen or permanent legal resident required

Safety Duties:

  • Ensure safe working conditions are being maintained in areas under his/her care.  Accomplish all work safely.  Request training or information to define hazards or environmental risk if not known.
  • Report unsafe conditions or acts to supervisor.  Take action to leave any unsafe area, correct, or otherwise mitigate any unsafe activities of others, notify building management of any unsafe environments.
  • Ensure MSDS sheets are properly maintained and available for review.  Provide sheets to building environmental and safety mangers before bringing new materials into the building locations.
  • Insure that equipment assigned to him are properly maintained and tools and materials are accounted for.
  • All company issued PPE equipment and uniforms are maintained to manufactures and company recommendations.  Employee shall report any problems to PPE equipment that would hinder his/her from safely performing any assigned job task.
