The Energy Business Unit of TE Connectivity has an opportunity for a Senior Manager Commercial Finance and FP&A EMEA. The Senior Manager will be responsible for the commercial elements, FP&A activities of the EMEA P&L and will closely cooperate with the operations finance team to meet the overall regional P&L objectives. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Finance for Energy and will be the business partner for Energy EMEA Vice President & General Manager.

 

ROLE STATEMENT:

The Senior Manager Commercial Finance and FP&A EMEA will be responsible for leading key financial planning and forecasting processes, including recommending strategic and operating financial goals for use both internally (strategic/operating plans) and externally (supporting the BU earnings guidance). S/he will also serve as business partner to the Energy EMEA Vice President & General Manager and his Regional Commercial team, set the direction for and lead/ leverage a team of highly skilled and motivated financial analysts in delivery of timely business decision support. The Senior Manager will be expected to influence decision making by senior level regional and business unit management through persuasive analysis and presentation.

The role will appeal to those with aspirations for further personal and career growth as the company seeks to further enhance the overall bench-strength for succession for the roles of Global FP&A Leader or Regional Controllers within the Energy business unit.

The successful candidate will be part of the Energy EMEA BU leadership team. This role will be located in EMEA or at the Energy EMEA regional headquarters in Ottobrunn/ Munich, Germany.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Planning & Control:

  • Lead the regional strategic financial planning process, business partnering with BU FP&A and Strategy, providing 5 year strategy plan deliverables, analysis, and modeling for the EMEA region.
  • Own and lead key financial processes: strategic plan, budget, forecast, month end and flash while working alongside the wider stakeholders to deliver the regional goals.

 

P&L Management:

  • Provide timely business decision support through conducting of financial analysis, reporting and modeling. Key customers include the Energy EMEA General Manager, EMEA regional Sales Leaders & key business functional leaders (e.g. Product Management, Global FP&A).
  • Provide Free Cash Flow drivers analysis, mainly A/R and restructuring projects and provide recommendations in terms of improvement. Ensure that the regional financial models are accurate and up to date, modelling business scenarios and driving effective business decisions and mitigation plans
  • Own the regional P&L Opex management process & collaborate with the operations finance team to meet the regional P&L objectives
  • Provide support for other ad/hoc requests (e.g. business reviews, non-operations capital expenditure analysis, integration activities, restructuring activities, internal audits etc.)

 

Cross Functional Collaboration:

  • Set the direction for, lead and leverage the team of highly skilled and motivated financial analysts. The team is responsible for producing timely and accurate business decision support, in addition of providing special project support as required.
  • Partner with the regional General Manager to define the right growth initiatives
  • Collaborate with sales operations to ensure a strong project pipeline to meet our long-term financial objectives.

 

Process:

  • Strive to constantly improve and develop the EMEA Commercial Finance and FP&A function, as part of driving continuous improvement projects around FP&A processes and driving a TEOA-F culture and mind-set within the team
  • Provide insights and recommendations driven by data analytics, advanced modelling techniques and triangulation of external and market data
  • Play an active role in the EMEA S&OP process, pricing analytics and credit control.  
  • Lead efforts to analyze, model, audit, and pay-out bonus plan (AIP, SIP and PMIP) and Opex.

 

Background should look like:

 

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in a multinational environment
  • Approximately 5-10 years of business experience in FP&A or Commercial Finance 

 

Knowledge:

  • Advanced financial modeling skills – ability to create pro forma or forecasted Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements.
  • Understanding of macroeconomics factors and how these impacts financial performance (e.g. Income Statement) and ability to incorporate this into financial modeling / scenario analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; Financial system / ERP knowledge a plus (SAP, Hyperion/ HFM, BPC, TED 2.0)

 

Education:

  • Bachelors in Degree in Accountancy or professional accounting qualification (CPA, CIMA or ACCA), Master/ MBA preferred
