Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Quality Assurance Teams are responsible for all or part of an organization's Quality Management System, including conformance and continuous improvement initiatives. They work on systemic evaluation of products, services, facilities, manufacturing or business processes, to ensure that standards of quality are being met. Develop and implement quality plans, programs and procedures using quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. They reviews, analyze and report on quality discrepancies, investigate problems and executes quality audits, and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. The team works closely with manufacturing, engineering, customers, or suppliers and subcontractors to ensure requirements are met.

TE Energy is looking for a EMEA Quality Manager, reporting to the EMEA Operations Director. He/she will be responsible for the coordination of our Europe Quality functions. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Defines, leads and coordinates the execution of the multi-year strategy for Quality “Road To Excellence”: quality and environment vision, strategy, processes, procedures and instructions to support and improve performances in EMEA
  • Coordinates the functional activities related to Quality for the 4 factories of the Business-Unit Energy in EMEA
  • Leads the EMEA Quality Team responsible for: Customer claims management, Supplier Quality and Development , Advanced Quality Engineers & Quality Management System 
  • Interfaces with Sales for customer requests linked to quality topics such as certificates of conformity, manufacturing record books and others
  • Actively participates to the Go-Green and Sustainability initiative including ISO14064 certification, Life-cycle-assessment, Carbon Footprint, Environmental Impact according to ISO standards, Corporate Social Responsibility 
  • Ensures harmonization across the sites concerning processes and procedures as well as used templates and inspection/acceptance criteria.
  • Participates to continuous improvement activities and reduction of Cost of Poor Quality in the region with special focus on products that are manufactured across multiple plants
  • Support the manufacturing sites with customer quality relations, including customer visits and customer audits, and leads the activity in case of cross-site processes.
  • Leads the EMEA Supplier Quality team to continuously monitor supplier performance and to define – in cooperation with Procurement – supplier improvement plans 
  • When needed, leads and/or supports root cause investigation, 8D and CAPA process for quality critical incidents 
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and new products development in the region for the Quality function
  • Effective participation in site, regional & global quality reporting and functional meetings
  • Ensures continuous bidirectional communication with quality and environment teams members in the plants and facilitate the communication between the plants and the regions
  • Reports to the ELT (European Leadership team) about results of agreed KPIs, status of improvement projects, initiatives. 

What your background should look like:

  • Academic degree in engineering or related discipline
  • >5 years of experience in quality or operational roles
  • >3 years leadership experience is preferable
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to interface with customers, suppliers, TE stakeholders and senior management
  • Skilled in problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Strong background in Root cause analysis & advanced quality tools (FMEA, 8D, APQP, PPAP, SPC, …)
  • Fluent in English. German, French or Polish will be a plus
  • Formal background and practical experience in Six Sigma is preferable
  • Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001
  • Knowledge of ISO14064-1, VDA6.3 is a plus
