Product Engineer Rotary Sensors (m/f/d)

Job Overview

As product engineer you will be responsible to work out the mechanical and magnetic product design from the concept phase till serial production, providing the right quality, cost and timing targets as required by the internal and exernal customers.


Tasks Summary & Responsibilities 

  • Responsible Core team member for product engineering in a cross functional project core team of the TE product development process
  • Meet, discuss and agree on regular base during the project with the other teammembers (Process Engineering, Advanced Quality Engineering, Purchasing, Finance)
  • Translate the customer requirements to the product design, taking into account the manufacturability, cost and quality into the electromechanical concept.
  • First point of contact for customers concerning design topics.
  • Prepare first concepts, 3D models and drawings from the product and all the components.
  • Identify and eliminate potential risks as soon as possible with different tools like
    • Design review
    • DFMEA
    • Tolerance calculation
    • Mechanical and/or magnetic simulations
  • Drive A and B-sample build to verify the design
  • Define validation and qualification test program in accordance with customer requirements. Follow up of validation testing, verification of the results, and discussion of the results with the customer.
  • Check the dimensional reports, relate them to customer requirements to make a valid decission to release or modify the tools.
  • Support operations in case of customer complaints or quality issues.
  • Contribute to technological progress by researching innovative solutions, and where possible protect it with patents.
  • Knowing and understanding what is going on in the market of rotary sensors. This can be by visiting fairs, searching competitors on the internet or competitor break down. 

What your background should look like:

  • Master Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Electrical engineering)
  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering, preferably product engineering
  • Knowledge of Industry Standards (e.g. IATF16949)
  • Good knowledge on production methods like stamping and molding
  • You have at least some basic knowledge on electricity and magnetism
  • CAD experience (ideally with Creo)
  • Strong engagement, flexibility and resilience
  • Ability for teamwork, dealing with commitments and a goal-oriented way of working 
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
  • Fluent in English, German language skills would be beneficial
  • Ideally, you speak Dutch, or you are willing to learn Dutch on short term
