Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

What your background should look like:

The Signal Integrity Engineer provides support & advice for bulk cable development, This position interacts with Product Development Engineering, Manufacturing Process Development Engineering. Tool & Fixture Design Engineering.

This position is responsible for the Developing, specifying and documentation of meaningful bulk cable stress testing. 

 

•    Design/Specification of bulk cable SI/physical test interface for high-speed bulk cable.
•    Interacting with Cable Assembly SI to correlate bulk cable data to cable assembly SI/Physical test data.
•    Work with customers/end users to determine proper use case data/specifications and how bulk cable performance can be measured to these standards.
•    Work with internal & external vendors to bring test equipment/fixture to reality.
•    Develop and document bulk cable SI/Physical test protocol
•    Train Bulk Cable test personnel in the use of fixtures and procedures at all TE DDN bulk cable locations.
•    Provide technical presentations internal & external customers as required.
•    Support SAFE Activities
•    Support ISO Activities
•    Provide Technical support for maintenance activities – Bulk Cable Test Equipment
•    Provide any support for any activities or projects necessary to support the business

•    Electrical Engineering and or Reliability Engineering Degree preferred.
•    Knowledge of circuit analysis required
•    Experience with Reliability Testing/Engineering Required.
•    Working knowledge of Network Analyzers and S-Parameters a must.
•    3 to 5 years bulk cable SI test experience
•    Knowledge of high-speed bulk cable design & manufacturing a plus.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $125,000 – $156,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
