Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

What your background should look like:

The Manufacturing Process Development Engineer provides economical solutions to create & improve processes for the manufacture of wire & cable.  This position interacts with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Cable Assembly Engineering, Manufacturing, Test Laboratories, raw material suppliers and equipment manufacturers. This position is responsible for the development & industrialization activities required of a high precision, high bandwidth product base.

 

•    Product / Process validation & transfer
•    Assist with product qualification
•    Process Development/Implementation/Documentation - Bulk Cable
•    Assist all areas of cable manufacturing as required.
•    Support Product Development/Design Engineering activities.
•    Interact with test lab on process/product qualification activities plus DOE, PFMEA, 8D, FA
•    Support Tooling Specification & Design activities.
•    Support additional manufacturing sites as required.
•    Support SAFE Activities
•    Support ISO Activities
•    Provide Technical support for maintenance activities.
•    Provide any support for any activities or projects necessary to support the business

•    Manufacturing, Mechanical or Plastics Engineering Degree preferred.
•    This is a mid-level to advanced position depending on candidate
•    Minimum 5 years of wire & cable process engineering experience..
•    Working Knowledge in SPC/Six Sigma/Lean
•    CAD Experience Required
•    Knowledge of materials, processes, and systems used in the manufacture of wire & cable a must.
•    Up to 30% International Travel Required.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $92,000 – $115,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
