Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Accounting Teams develop, implement and/or maintain one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, Cash Flows, etc. in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures. They also design operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency.

Newington Finance has an opening for a Sr. Cost Accountant. The position reports to the Plant Controller and is responsible for working closely with manufacturing operations to provide data and analytical support to drive continual improvement and cost reduction. The position is also responsible for all cost activities including: inventory, E&O, direct labor, material consumption, and product cost updates.      


•           Team with the current cost accountant to cover all day to day activities within the cost area including the scrubbing of cost transactions prior to month end.

•           Work with manufacturing operations to provide metric information for performance analysis and assist with establishing metric targets by providing analytical support and recommendations.

•           Participate in New Product Introduction costing to establish a baseline and measure accuracy to ensure estimated cost and actual cost is on target. Provide variance analysis when needed.

•           Provide detailed variance analysis for management including: change in inventory, PPV, material consumption, and labor.

•           Conduct the annual product cost update. This requires data analysis support for purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing as well as performing the roll and reviewing results.

•           Provide all product cost updates.

•           Review and approve all standard cost updates and actively participate in Manufacturing Readiness Review meetings to support existing product change as well as new product introduction.

•           Partner with materials management to ensure transactions are correctly recorded.
