Manufacturing Quality Engineer (m/f/d)

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Quality Control and Reliability Teams ensure product and / or product components comply with specifications and quality standards. They test and inspect products against performance and integrity criteria to ensure product quality and reliability, and to determine the suitability of product release.

What your background should look like

  • Successfully completed degree in plastics technology, or a comparable qualification (technician with professional experience)
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
  • Profound knowledge of quality tools (FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why, problem solving tools), knowledge of applicable software desirable
  • Very good user skills in SAP (module MQ required and module MM desired)
  • Reporting in German and English, assertiveness, negotiation skills
  • Preferably already trained as Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Structured way of working and analytical thinking
  • Business fluent in German and English

What you will be doing

  • Handle internal and external customer complaints with root cause determination through Fast Response process (8D Report).
  • Define and implement corrective actions regarding quality risks and problems in all manufacturing areas in the plant (Heat Shrink, Cold Applied, HV, Surge Arrester)
  • Perform process capability analysis and continuous product quality improvement projects
  • Professional use of SAP (especially the "QM Module" and in connection with MM, PP etc.)
  • Implementation of projects to reduce costs due to poor quality (CoPQ)
  • Creation of inspection plans and quality specifications (SWIs, QCTS, QIP) for the manufacturing areas
  • Execution of product and process audits with identification of improvement potentials and tracking of measures
  • Coordination with other departments (Process Engineering, Product Management, Planning Department, Purchasing Department)
  • Creation of quality notifications in SAP (Z1- Z3) with assignment of actions and blocking of materials in case of problems
  • Participation in customer audits, inspections and customer visits
