SALES ENGINEER, Industrial-Electrical

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Industry Sales/Account Management Teams are responsible for Selling TE's Entrelec® products, providing detailed technical product information, creating demand for Entrelec® products based on application, and maintaining relationships with customers in assigned geographic territory, industries, or accounts.
TE Connectivity's Industrial Business Unit is seeking a strong Sales Engineer, based in the greater Minneapolis, MN, for promoting TE products and solutions to strategic Panel Builder, Industrial OEM, and Industrial End User accounts in this area and the surrounding region.  This position is responsible for both defining and executing a strategic account plan for profitable growth by leveraging the full TE Entrelec® portfolio of products, services, and core competencies. This position requires strength in coordinating Engineering, Marketing and Product Management support to ensure a strong partnership is maintained with key influencers in the Industrial centric markets.

 

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary interface between the customer and TE Connectivity.
• Work closely with target customers to maximize print position in their control panel/cabinet designs with TE’s current and future product portfolio.
• Strong technical capability to be able to lead both mechanical and electrical discussions with customers.
• The role is a blend of Sales, Business Development & System Architect that will drive product & technology roadmaps.
• Ability to independently lead technical discussions with key Electrical & Mechanical design influencers and system architects.  
  Work with Electrical Distributors to support end customer with commercial transactions and local inventory.
• Work closely with OEM procurement teams to negotiate local and global opportunities.
• Work closely with TE FAE’s, Product Managers, and Pricing to ensure the team is supporting the customer as necessary to become a strategic partner.
• Develop and maintain relationships at all levels within the customer.
• Maintain a high level of awareness with regards to industry trends and competitive activity within the Industrial centric markets.
• Drive sales growth through maximization of resources and execution of market segment strategies.

What your background should look like:

• BS degree required, Electrical and/or Engineering preferred
• 5+ years of Technical Sales / Electrical & Control Panel Knowledge / Product Management experience in Industrial Market (sales experience preferred)
• Requires candidates with technical knowledge to develop relationship with all levels of customer management (Buyers, Engineering, Product Management, Project Manager etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to provide collaborative new product development ideas to help expand the Entrelec® Product Portfolio
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize
• Strong interpersonal & negotiating skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel as required
• Successful candidates will have strong ability to work independently
• Outstanding networking, influencing, and listening skills
• Experience reading/interpreting customer drawings

Compensation

•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: (All pay scales based on Global location Salary database)
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits.  Incentive program provides opportunity to achieve 125% of base salary annually.
