Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Maintenance Teams perform repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure longer lifespan of machines and facilities. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures. Maintenance Mechanic IV plays a critical role in supporting the operations and infrastructure of a semiconductor manufacturing facility. This position operates on a swing shift schedule and overseas and maintains complex building and utility systems including cleanroom environments, ultrapure water systems, gas delivery infrastructure, HVAC, and electrical systems. The role requires strong technical expertise, regulatory compliance knowledge, and hands-on experience in a highly controlled manufacturing setting. Swing Shift Hours - 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday- Friday.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Lead the monitoring, operation, and maintenance (7x24) of critical facility systems (e.g., cleanroom HVAC, process cooling water, compressed dry air, DI water, vacuum systems, and specialty gas systems).
  • Exposure to chemicals needed for processing wafers- such as IPA (isopropyl alcohol), acetone, acids, and solvents.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors and vendors involved in facility upgrades, shutdowns, tool installations, and site maintenance projects.
  • Ensure compliance with semiconductor industry standards, including cleanroom protocols, EHS (environmental, health & safety) regulations, and tool installation specifications.
  • Respond to facility-related alarms and emergencies as an ERT member, including after-hours issues involving HVAC, gas, electrical, or water systems.
  • Perform routine inspections of systems and equipment to ensure operational efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  • Support tool hookup projects, providing interface between facilities and process/tool engineers.
  • Maintain accurate records, SOPs, and logs using CMMS and other digital systems.
  • Maintain the assets tags throughout the Company, including applying, tracking and inputting asset information and maintenance history into the asset management system.

 

 

 

What your background should look like:

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equilvant. 
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of facilities maintenance experience in a semiconductor fab, high-tech manufacturing plant, or cleanroom environment.

Technical Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of building systems used in semiconductor fabs (HVAC, CDA, PCW, VMB/VMP, toxic and inert gases, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and technical blueprints.
  • Experience using a CMMS system for maintenance planning and tracking (e.g., Maximo, SAP, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of SEMI standards, NFPA, and OSHA regulations related to facilities and hazardous materials.
  • Familiarity with tool install packages, MEP coordination, and facility system integration.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • OSHA 10/30-hour certification or equivalent.
  • FMP (Facilities Management Professional), CFM (Certified Facility Manager), or equivalent is a plus.
  • Relevant trade licenses (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or gas handling certifications).
  • Forklift license.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or walk 50% of the day, lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders, and access confined spaces.
  • Work occasionally in cleanroom environments wearing appropriate PPE and gowning.
  • Must be willing to work any shift, modified shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $84,800-$127,200 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
