The Aerospace, Defense and Marine (AD&M) business unit of TE is part of the Industrial Solutions segment -- a world leader in the design of components and electrical interconnection solutions that are used for applications in extreme and harsh environments. The Aerospace, Defense & Marine engineering team at TE is seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer to provide testing support in our Harrisburg test lab.


What you will be doing:

As a member of our Aerospace, Defense, and Marine (AD&M) Test Lab in Harrisburg, PA the Test Engineer will review assigned test programs and recommend testing strategies to ensure TE products meet customer performance and reliability needs, perform electrical and mechanical testing on TE products, and write detailed test procedures and reports to support the test lab and its customers, following good engineering practices and ensuring the integrity of the business is maintained by following all applicable policies and procedures.  The position will report to the Manager, Test Engineering, for the Aerospace & Defense Test Team. 


Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Negotiate test plans with internal and external customers.
  • Perform estimates of labor and materials required for testing, including project test scheduling.
  • Oversee the work of test technicians.
  • Review active test programs and final test results to ensure that performance and reliability requirements are met.


This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.  

What your background should look like:
  • Minimum of B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Previous testing experience preferred.
  • Excellent math and statistical skills.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a hands-on environment.
  • Ability to work well with others of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Willingness to shift priorities as business pressures demand.
  • Ability to compile and analyze data using spreadsheets and graphing programs including MS Excel and Minitab.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite including MS Project.
  • Familiarity with connector design, performance and reliability requirements and potential failure modes a plus.
