We are building a world class advanced analytics team that will solve some of the most complex strategic problems and deliver topline growth and operational efficiencies across our business The Analytics team at TE is part of the TE Information Solutions (TEIS) Organization and is responsible for driving organic growth by leveraging big data and advanced analytics. The team reports to the Chief Data Officer at TEIS, works closely with the SVP of Corporate Strategy, and has regular interactions with the company’s C-Suite.


We are on an exciting journey to build and scale our advanced analytics practice. TE is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer with demonstrated experience in implementing both BI and advanced analytical solutions on a hybrid environment. This role participates in the conceptualization, design, development and delivery of AL/ML solutions in Cloud and On-Premises in conjunction with senior solution architects.


In this position you will provide engineering leadership to create and enhance data solutions enabling seamless integration and flow of data across our data ecosystem which includes AWS. Analytics solutions will include designing and deploying visualization, AL/ML model, data ingestion (ETL), Microservices, streaming, API Management and Web applications leveraging open source and packaged tools. This role will be closely working with leadership teams from the different organization to establish the foundation to create value for diverse business functions such as supply chain, pricing, Industrial IOT & digital factory implementation, and will impact business units that span through multiple geographic areas.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensures application solution design meet application performance criteria, security measures, release standards, and ensures application and system stability.
  • Architecture & design method champion to gather and analyze requirements, design and implement specific analytics solutions in a hybrid environment that is distributed across the globe between Cloud and On-Premises
  • Provide thought leadership around the use of industry standard tools and models (including commercially available models and tools) by leveraging experience and current industry trends.
  • Develop data driven solutions utilizing current and next generation technologies to meet evolving business needs.
  • Develop real-time data ingestion and stream-analytic solutions leveraging technologies such as Kafka, Apache Spark, NIFI, Python, HBase, Kinesis, and EMR.
  • Management of tools for monitoring, logging, analytics/reporting/dashboards, request management, service catalog, backup, high availability (HA), disaster recovery knowledge preferred and expertise with popular tools like Splunk and native cloud tools is highly desirable.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Architect, consulting partners and customers as warranted to establish and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Practice Root Cause Analysis to determine the scope and scale of issue impact. Create epics/stories and construct automation to prevent problem recurrence.
  • Maintain in-depth and current knowledge of the Cloud architecture, Data lake, Data warehouse, BI, IoT platform, Platform to develop and deploy advanced analytics models and ETL tools 
  • Responsible for communication and collaboration with key stakeholders in the delivery of features
  • Participate in Proof of Concept (POC) work and prototyping when necessary
You Must Have:
  • 7+ years of lead engineer in delivering Data Insights and Analytical solutions with the ability to coach/provide guidance to peer and junior engineers.
  • 3+ years of Cloud platforms with AWS tools such as S3, EC2, ECS, EKS, SageMaker, Aurora, RDS, Lambda Functions AMI, ELB, ALB, NLB, VPC, Auto Scaling configurations, DMS, Data Streaming.
  • Multiple experiences implementing solutions for advance analytics using open source (Cloudera based solutions and AWS based solutions are preferred)
  • Experience implementing ETL/ELT solutions  with SQL and NoSQL DBs such as Oracle, SAP Hana, Redshift, Impala, Amazon DynamoDB
  • Experience with Linux infrastructures, database SQL, Bigdata Platform, CI/CD tools, DevOps, scripting such as JavaScript, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, Shell scripting
  • Docker and Kubernetes container orchestration and management platform 
  • Extensive knowledge about Streaming, messaging, APIs designing RESTful services and integrated with other providers
  • Designing, build and deploy programs for Big Data Platform, Cloudera Data Science Workbench, Data Streaming, Cloud Computing-AWS Stack, HDFS and Cloudera based Hadoop systems 
  • Ability to collaborate with management, users, contract resources, vendors, and other IT teams
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities. Results oriented. Relies on fact-based logic for decision-making.
  • Ability to work with multiple projects and work streams at one time. Must be able to deliver results based upon project deadlines.
  • Willing to flex daily work schedule to allow for time-zone differences for global team communications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science OR equivalent work experience in an IT organization
We Value:
  • Experience in demonstrating the challenges and recommendation to leadership team in a precise manner
  • Prior working experience with SAP HANA, SAP ERP, SAP BW environments
  • Experience in developing basic data science models
  • Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT solutions (Talend, BODS)
  • Experience configuring databases and messaging services a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is a plus
  • AWS certifications a big plus
