Packaging and Logistics Leader

Job Overview

Reporting to the Director, Center of Excellence Procurement- the Packaging and logistics leader will serve a dual role.  First, as a cost analyst for Packaging, this newly created role will serve all TE Business Units (BU’s) and will require the ability to collaborate very closely with the Manufacturing Engineering COE team.  The Packaging leader will utilize cost modeling software to identify gaps in packaging costs, and work closely with supplier and BU Commodity experts to close gaps.  In addition, the Packaging/Logistics leader will work on site with suppliers to implement process improvement to facilitate additional productivity.   Secondly, this role will also manage Rfq’s for corporate logistics.  This includes managing the annual quoting process for Air/Ocean/and small parcel.


Key Responsibilities
•    Utilize cost modeling software to identify product cost gaps in Packaging
•    Responsible to achieve annual goals for assigned KPIs including cost and quality
•    Responsible to lead idea generation and execution of ideas across all BU’s to ensure a sustainable pipeline of material productivity initiatives
•    Be able to capture the needs of the BUs and fulfill their expectations in COE related KPIs and service level as internal customers.
•    Responsible for driving continuous improvement (TEOA) for Procurement COE
•    Manage relations with all key suppliers who are engaged in Procurement Packaging COE Project
•    Works in accordance with the TE processes, values and behaviors.

What your background should look like:

•    At least 2 years of relatable Data Analytics or Manufacturing Engineering  
•    At least 2 years Packaging commodity experience
•    Experience with Cost Modeling Software tools
•    Strong IT Skills: SAP, advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Powerpoint, Word
•    Prior experience managing a team
•    Possess strong and sound continuous improvement disciplines and convictions; Proven success in these areas is a must.
•    Proven track record that demonstrates ability to achieve desired results.
•    Strong people & organizational leadership skills.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills towards staff, peers, suppliers, internal customers and leadership.
•    Ability to prioritize manage complexity in a fast-paced environment.
•    Very Strong problem-solving skills.
•    University degree in business related field, engineering or equivalent.
