Job Overview

We are currently seeking a Quality & Reliability Engineer to join our Ruggedized Fiber Optics (RFO) team in Middletown, PA.  This individual will be a key member of our simultaneous engineering teams and will be responsible for supporting all of the quality aspects of the product development projects.  This individual must also be able act on customer complaints related to delivered product and be the liaison to the customer to ensure a root cause & corrective action is in place in a timely manner.  Conversely, this individual may need to assist on activities to drive solutions for defective product delivered from internal and external suppliers. The Ruggedized Fiber Optics (RFO) team serves a broad range of customers in the commercial aerospace, military / defense, and marine markets. 
 
 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Generate Quality Inspection procedures when needed.
  • Coordinate DFMEA & PFMEA events for NPD as well as track actions to completion.
  • Coordinate first article inspection activities and complete final reports.
  • Review quality requirements on customer documentation.
  • Review test documentation for errors / accuracy and complete final sign-off.
  • Generation of visual standards for manufactured products.
  • Print reviews & key characteristic recommendations.
  • Coordinate cause & corrective action activities for defective product.
  • ISO audit liaison / coordinator.

What your background should look like:

Minimal requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or similar; OR at least 5 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance role in manufacturing / aerospace industry.
  • Must be familiar with the FMEA process.

 

Preferred skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Understanding of the Stage-Gate product development sequence 
  • Aerospace & Military product manufacturing industries experience
  • Understanding of industry standards such as AS9100, AS9102, IPC-8497, Workmanship & IEC 61300-3-30 for EFG 
  • Working knowledge of SAP is desired. 
  • Green Belt in Six Sigma Process preferred.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate root cause and corrective action activities using quality tools such as 8D, Ishikawa diagrams, 5 Whys, and PPSR.
  • Must be able to work as a team member with remote sites and outside vendors.
