Job Overview

 Responsible for development and ownership of global supply base and management for America (North+South) based suppliers. Develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned products/portfolio, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service levels. Drive cost savings and optimization of supply base.  Responsible for PBL and other commodities strategy, following Corporate policies and guidelines.
Aligns strategy and execution with cross functional teams such as Engineering, Finance, Quality, Project and Product Management and Operations and support cross-functional projects with Americas footprint.
He/she executes the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage.
Responsible for NPD projects flawless launches with America suppliers.
Support Corporate initiatives/projects with local Supply Base.

Job Requirements

•    Manages assigned supply base and builds strong relationships with strategic Americas suppliers to optimize performance
•    Development of new and existing suppliers, expanding our BCC supply base, ensuring healthy competitiveness, and per pre-established quality standards and TE procedures
•    Leads and executes the Sourcing Steps- RFQ process
•    Accountable for achieving annual goals for assigned KPIs.  Plan and execute with his/her team to achieve the objectives/targets regarding Supplier Quality, Delivery and Material Productivity, including VA-VE for the region, as well as other Corporate/BU assigned targets. (ex: Multi-sourcing, Contracts coverage, Localization, Conflict Minerals, etc)
•    Develops, executes, commodity strategies ensuring alignment with plants and BU objectives
•    Ensure a sustainable pipeline of material productivity initiatives for the business unit/region
•    Capture the needs of the BU and fulfil the expectations in his/her region related KPIs and service level as internal customers
•    Ensure suppliers are compliant to global and regional regulatory or legal requirements (RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, etc.)
•    Conduct quarterly business reviews with strategic and selected high-critical set of key suppliers
•    Be the escalation point for all supply base issues or opportunities. Clears the path to issues related with supply disruptions
•    Negotiates contracts with suppliers to develop mutually acceptable contractual agreements, ensuring that all procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulations, and tracks supplier performance and compliance with expectations and contractual terms
•    Ensure enough capacity at our suppliers 
•    Ensures and promotes adherence to global processes, policies, procedures, best practices within TE and extensive to supply base
•    Creates Procurement reports and performs analysis to identify trends, opportunities, threats and the needed course correction
•    Run Should cost analysis where applicable
•    Accountable for Data Integrity in SAP for Americas suppliers

What your background should look like

 

•    +10 years’ Experience in field (At least 5-7 years of experience within the area of Operations)
•    Ideally Procurement, Suppliers Development and Project Management experience
•    Min 2 years of experience with technical designs (tools, industrial equipment/machinery, industry automations)
•    Min 2 years of work onsite in an industrial plant, in partnership with technical teams (Engineering, Production/Ops, Manufacturing teams)


Qualifications:


•    Bachelor’s degree (Engineering or Finance/Economics preferred)
•    Advanced knowledge in the use of SAP and Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Project management knowledge and experience 
•    Negotiation and analytical skills
•    Fluent in English. Other language/Spanish will be a plus
•    Strong communication and presentation skills
•    Knowledge of financial costing of product

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $130,700 - $ 196,300 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
