Job Overview

The Automotive business unit of TE Connectivity has an opportunity for a Sustaining PMO (Project Management Office) Manager – Project Management based out of Winston-Salem, NC.  This position will report to the Sr. Project Manager Engineering of the NA AUTO Business Unit.
The Sustaining PMO Manager will direct and oversee a team of regional PjM (Project Managers) within the North American Automotive unit to drive project execution capacity, replacement and localization process; i.e. delivering projects that are on-time, on-budget, and meet performance objectives.  This role will interact with regional stakeholders and a successful candidate must be able to effectively communicate, influence and motivate local and global teams.

Key Responsibilities

•    Lead, develop and train regional PjM in all aspects of their responsibilities, remove road blocks for the PMO office, prioritize/assign project to the team members, communicate to senior leadership on project status and strategy.
•    Provide a central focal point for operations to ensure capacity and delivery plans can be achieved.
•    Provide a central focal point for Demand/Supply Management and the Sales and Operation Planning team to ensure projects have the necessary visibility/planning for successful start of production.
•    Manage department budget & expenditures
•    Develop and coach employees, manage performance, and provide support / guidance on career development needs and opportunities
•    Cost control: ensure that team members manage the project capital, expense and resource expenditures to stay within budget and ensure that the financial returns are maintained. 
•    Conduct regular key project reviews with regional PjM to ensure all projects stay on track and that any issues are proactively managed and avoided.
•    Risk management: work with PjM to effectively create, monitor, and control risk management plans.
•    Capacity planning: develop and maintain team capacity plans; effectively allocate resources as needed.
•    Facilitate and ensure cross functional coordination within core teams, considering regional differences in organizational structures and complexities in dealing cross business units.

What your background should look like:

•    Bachelor’s degree (engineering or technical preferred)
•    Project management experience with progressive responsibilities (10+ years preferred)
•    Demonstrated ability to lead a team of project managers (3+ years preferred)
•    Operational related experience highly desired
•    Project Management Professional certification a plus (PMP) 
•    Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
•    Must be able to effectively work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds
•    Strong aptitude for problem solving
•    Able to work effectively under pressure 
•    Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop a high performing team
•    Spanish fluency is a plus
