Interoperability and Regression Testing Manager II (REMOTE)
At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world.
Job Overview
As the Interoperability and Regression Testing Engineering Manager at TE Connectivity, you will lead a multidisciplinary team with a specialized focus on ensuring firmware interoperability and executing comprehensive regression testing across high-speed cable assembly products. These products support next-generation data center and wireless infrastructure applications where firmware and hardware must seamlessly interact.
This leadership role demands deep expertise in validation strategies that integrate firmware with hardware systems, ensuring robust operation, compatibility, and compliance. You will oversee the full validation lifecycle—from architecture definition to regression test execution—ensuring performance integrity across product updates and firmware versions.
What your background should look like:
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
Lead and develop a high-performing team of validation engineers and technicians with a specialization in firmware interoperability validation and automated regression testing.
Firmware Interoperability Testing:
Develop and implement validation strategies to ensure firmware operates reliably across multiple system configurations, partner platforms, and product generations.
Regression Test Frameworks:
Establish automated regression testing frameworks to detect, track, and resolve firmware-related failures across evolving product releases.
Test Strategy Development:
Define system-level test requirements aligned with product specifications, emphasizing software-hardware interaction points and compatibility metrics.
Test System Development:
Oversee the development and deployment of test infrastructure, including tools, fixtures, and automation frameworks tailored for firmware-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with firmware, hardware, systems, and manufacturing teams to align test strategies, firmware releases, and validation milestones.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
Use data analytics to evaluate regression trends, identify root causes of firmware-related failures, and drive continuous validation improvement.
Documentation & Reporting:
Generate detailed regression reports, interoperability validation protocols, and risk assessments to support firmware release cycles and customer deployments.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
10+ years of experience in test engineering with a strong focus on firmware validation or embedded system integration.
Proven experience with:
Firmware-hardware co-validation methods
Regression automation frameworks and CI/CD integration
High-speed interconnect test environments (e.g., BERTs, TDRs, DSOs)
Deep understanding of interoperability challenges in data center and wireless applications.
Strong leadership and communication skills with experience managing validation teams.
Ability to operate effectively in global, cross-functional environments.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with firmware standards, communication protocols (I2C, SPI, MDIO), and embedded diagnostics
Experience in Python or similar scripting for automated test development
Knowledge of compliance specifications (IEEE, SFF, USB, PCIe, etc.)
Exposure to version control and continuous integration tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins)
Six Sigma, statistical process control, or advanced data analytics background
