The Aerospace, Defense and Marine (AD&M) business unit of TE is part of the Industrial Solutions segment (Industrial Solutions) and is a world leader in the design of components and electrical interconnection solutions that are used for applications in extreme environments. These interconnection solutions make possible applications of avionics, jet and propulsion engine management, flight controls, grounding systems and on-board entertainment for today's "connected aircraft". This capability is extended to military, marine, aviation, space, land and drone vehicles, as well as oil and gas exploration of open-ocean deposits.

The High Performance Group (HPG) sub-vertical within AD&M designs and manufactures relays, contactors, panels for power distribution applications and fiber optic interconnect products for the commercial aerospace and defense industries.

As a member of the HPG finance team, you will partner HPG’s GM, product managers, operations and engineering teams to dive profitable growth and execution of HPG’s strategic plan.  The financial analyst will work directly with HPG’s Director of finance and HPG’s plant controllers to achieve HPG’s financial objectives.  Specific responsibilities include:

Job Overview:

Finance lead for HPG’s Ruggedized Fiber Optic (RFO) business – 40%

Growing the RFO portfolio within HPG is a strategic priority for the AD&M business unit.  With a significant pipeline of growth opportunities, the financial analyst will serve as a key business partner to the product management and engineering leads of RFO.  Primary responsibilities include:

  • P&L ownership of the RFO business including quarterly forecasting, analysis of monthly results, and cost control
  • Act as the primary financial interface with plant controllers in facilities in which RFO products are manufactured
  • Work closely with RFO product management lead to define financial objectives in support of annual budget, strategic plan and quarterly forecasts
  • Work with RFO product managers and engineering team on financial analysis in support of business case development and potential investments
Job Overview Con't:

HPG Sub-vertical Financial Planning & Analysis – 30%

  • Own operating expenses in the HPG P&L - interface with product management and engineering functions to forecasting monthly operating expenses and analyze drivers of variances to forecast
  • Support Director of Finance in preparing for monthly business reviews, financial close meetings, annual budget and forecast reviews with AD&M management
  • Support ad hoc finance projects for the HPG General Manager, product management and engineering teams as needed

HPG Sub-vertical Operations Finance Analyst – 30%

The HPG portfolio of products is primarily manufactured in plants located in Fairview, North Carolina and Mansfield, Ohio.  The financial analyst will work closely with HPG’s plant controllers to drive strong cost controls, meet plant productivity targets and provide accurate and timely reporting of plant results to the HPG leadership team.

Desired Background:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • 5+ years experience in a corporate finance, accounting or plant controller role
  • Strong ability to collaborate cross functionally with PM, engineering and operations
  • Proficient in Excel and Power Point
  • Knowledge of operations finance
  • A forward-thinking, energetic leader who demonstrates diversity in their experiences and is a strategic business partner. 
  • Exhibits a compelling drive for accomplishing goals with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Experience in SAP preferred
